And why am I doomed to spend even more time when I say aay, being bothered by all others to cancel those deals?
Why do I always play all my games just in one session?
How come that Versailles reduces maintenance, where in reality those guys there blew quite a lot of money away?

Because Versailles needed to do SOMETHING. Hell, in Rise of Nations it makes your supply wagons heal your troops... how much sense does that make?

Another hobby? I don't think so. I just like to use my free days to play a single huge game. I don't play every day you know, but once I play I cannot stop until the world is in my grip

Bismarck's music is, AFAIK, also the music when you lost in Civ I. It is Beethoven's funeral march, the 2nd Movement from his 3rd "Eroica" Symphony. Yes, it is strange that Bismarck gets funeral music. Preußens Gloria would have been a better choice, IMHO.

Think of the tourist hordes who want to visit Versailles...
