I guess it goes even beyound language barriers. I am not native in English so i thought of "car-tof" which means potatoe. Note that is starts just as "car-rot". So, a native speaker should naturallt say "carrot". I can't accept I am so predictible !

The real way to do it is to have the additon problems add up to 14. Like 14 "carrot" gold! That would bring carrots to mind.

I thought of the weird spices they put on seafood, and a crab popped into my head, then me eating 2 pounds of crab, then a stomach ache, then i stopped thinking altogether, im wondrin if this is normal.

It took me several seconds while only six was coming on my mind, but then came.........carrot.

Perhaps it's because carrot is the most vegetable of all vegetables. It's an association made at the age of 1 and powered all your life. If you didn't get carrot, it's not because you're different than other people, it's because your parents were different.
