Hia this is just a message to all lurkers. We like feedback and ideas, if you have a comment or something that you like please let us know so we can put it in! :)

If you have spent ages lurking but never posting (as I did for 2 years) because your shy or worried or any other reason then this is your oppertunity to join in! Post here to say hello to everyone then run over to the other threads you have views on and post those views! :):)

Don't worry we don't bite! ;) and don't worry if you don't have an account either, IT'S FREE, join up and make a post! :) (also don't worry if you don't use the word don't seven times in 2 lines it's not compulsury :p)

p.s. please post here or I will look like a ****** :mischief:

Masada isnt biting either, im just reading and thinking feel free to spam your thoughts however trivial you might think they are probably because there not ;)

I have given up playing this mod on v 0.11 because the civs I love in warhammer aren't fleshed out. Which civs are playable as of now ? I'd gladly play anything but elves really.
Oh and which scenarios are playable on the actual version ? I like huge maps, but with most mods I tend to get MAF's in late game, do your mod have the same problem ?

I am not an elf fan either, try the Orcs they are ok for the start of the game, all the human races are playable as they're easiest to get graphics for. Whats ya favourite civ btw?

Ah, I had forgotten MAF's aren't a real problem, who's bothered playing 10-15 hours to finally get repeditly kicked out because the game has programmation flaws ? I would really be pesky if I complained about it.(Memory Allocation Failure, but I bet you're jocking)(If you're not, be damned for ten generations)(cause it mean you end your games on huge maps).

I love chaos, orks, bretonnia, skavens, lizardmen(most anything but elves and empire). The last time I tried, orcs had no magic, and I started near elves (who used some mages), and so everyone can guess what followed. Plus I found gobs were useless against pointy ears people.

If you don't enjoy early betas you should probably wait a ittle longer;)

It's not the point : MAFs are a well known pbm encountered when save files get too big, it mainly happens in mods allowing huge armies (as far as I've tested). To solve this pbm I mainly play on Large maps( so as to reduce the saves size). What I asked you is if your mod encounters the MAF limitation on it's huge warhammer world map. If it does, I'll save myself the pain of playing on it, and will do so on Large maps. SO I'd like to have, if you agree, a clear yes or no answer concerning the occurence of MAF in this mod.(I utterly agree you have no responsibility in the occurence of the MAF problem )

I do enjoy beta versions, and already played several. The pbm is you decided to go for elvens first, and as I don't enjoy them, I have no real motivation to play this mod, but I don't contest your decision, it is your mod, and if your pleased with your pointy ears fellas just create them first. I know elves are popular, so it is surely a wise choice.

well to answer your question correctly then. I didn't run into MAFs with WH, actually I allmost never did with any mod unless the modversion didn't match the savedgame modversion. So I'm quite unfamiliar with this topic.
If you experience the problem so often maybe it's a problem with your amount of RAM?

However I can't guarantee you won't encounter gamestoppers, it's an early beta. Atm I'm aware of a random WoC and a Ctd I even have a vague idea where they might come from unfortunatly I wasn't able to get saves where they repeat yet(meaning on reload the game continued, which is good for players but bad for me isolating the bug). I can't really debug until I get saves(this is what I really need playtesters for).

Downloading now v 0.12, will post my buggy saves.
I think it is my comp, only 1 gig ram. :(

I run the largest maps on a laptop with only 1 gig of ram... at least i think i only have a gig ;)

Well, this is v .012 now. Try it now, Humakty, everythin's better imho.

Hi These two questions are all Kairob's fault (for encouraging me to join).

First have to say that the WarHammer mod for Civ4 Warlords was my all time favourite and I pretty much stopped playing normal Warlords for it (but it always abrubtly ended sometime between 1600 and 2400 IC and no amount of reloading would help, but it was just so damn GOOD!!!!). Have to admit though that I normally played modified Tileans as Solkanites. Law Gods don't Rock, they RAVE! (OK, my modification consisted of renaming Myrmidia as Solkan, I'm hopeless at this stuff).

But I've a problem. I downloaded Warhammer12d.7z and my computer doesn't know what to do with it (XP SP3). I'm stuck. Please explain as to an incomptent simpleton what I should do. Please.

2nd question. I just found out that the next Civilization (Revolution) is out in ...looks up... 12 days. As I only found out last month about BTS I'm rather "hmmm". But what I wanted to ask is do you plan to continue until WarHammer BTS is fully working or do you think you'll start rewriting for Revolution or does that depend entirely on how different Revolution is?

Please reply regarding playing the game, since the new Warlords won't play Warhammer right I'm desperate for my warhammer fix

Civilization revolution is for consoles only and an entirely different game. Warhammer will stay a BTS Mod.

you need to unpack the zip inside the BTS/Mods folder. you need Beyond the sword not Warlords.

version 0.12 d runs only with patch 3.13

version 3.17 downloadable in a few hours will come as an exe for easier install and will run only with BTS patch 3.17

Ooh, a few hours. Can't wait. But I'll do it tomorrow as I need my sleep right now.

Buy Civ IV: Beyond the Sword (BtS), Fenrir. It massively impacts on Civ IV, and is probably the best expansion pack ever released. Compared to Warlords, Warlords is a limp fish without vassals. BTS is awesome. Heaps of stuff introduced, as well as far better AI.

As it stands now, the WHFB mod requires BTS to play it. BTS is just that good. Install BTS when you get it.
Download the WHFB mod. Copy the Warhammer directory into your BTS\mods folder wherever it is (default is C:\program files\firaxis games\sid meiers civ IV\beyond the sword\mods\[goes right here]).
Then download the sounds, stick it in the assets folder in the Warhammer directory.
Then download the latest Warhammer patch and paste it directly into the BTS\mods folder and allow it to overwrite.

PLAY! And check out the cooooool intro movie... (they didnt have that last time you played Warlords WHFB!!!). And enjoy!

EDIT: Oh and get the latest BTS game patch. 3.13 I believe, or just wait a teeny day or two as WHFB will upgrade to 3.17 BTS game patch soon.

I still haven't actually played BTS yet. I bought it to play FFH2 (having played the vanilla version), and played the scenarios, but haven't tried vanilla. I do find that I strongly dislike espionage and the corporations though, from what I've seen of them.
