Welcome New Members

G'day newbie thread!

Hi,
I've played civ3 and nw civ4, I usually playwith mods and scenarios, because I'ts more realistic (my favorite scenario is EE3, the earth and earth1000AD scenarios are also nice). When Ido play regular games I play with archipelagoes.

Hi everyone... Been playing quite a while CIV2 ,and 3....I don`t seem to be getting any further along in skill though. I read the whole CIV3 book and applied what i learned but i cant seem to even beat the Warlord difficulty
level...Can anyone give me some tips to sharpen my game?
Thx for any info,

Hey fellow civ lovers!! I've been using this site for tips/strategies since civ 4 was released. Just got warlords. I need help for playing online with you guys. I don't know what I need to do to play multiplayer online. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

Hello everyone Civilizations 4 rules another great job!!!!!!!!!! wooo hoooo hmm i wonder if any cheats are out hehehehe

Well I finally got it....

Hello and I'm new around here but I'm not new to the Civ games. I was supposed to get this game for fathers day, but when my wife couldn't find it ( I guess she didn't look very hard! ) I ended up getting something else.

I was informed this morning I had to go with everyone while the females ( I'm outnumbered here 3 to 1 ) shopped for clothes........So I reluctantly went. While we were looking around I then informed my wife for subjecting me to this torturous event I was going to be rewarded with CivIV!:goodjob:

So here I am......I just loaded it up and am about to set out to play it for the first time once the kids go to bed.

Up until now I've been playing Civ III and previous to that you guessed it...Civ II.

My name is Chris, and I am a CIV addict......anyways this looks like a great place, so thanks for listening to me ramble and for welcoming me.

Hello. Started playing Civ I, then II (surprise), skipped III and couple of weeks ago downloaded the update(to civ4) from here that gives you marathon speed. Sweet.
It's the best ever game speed... I' m at least as badly addicted as I was to civ1 fifteen years ago. Verrry nice.

Hello everyone, i've been wandering around already but now i introduce myself officially.

I've played Civ 2,3 and 4 and now warlords. Civ is a jewel of a game even with bugs and imperfections. It's the global approach that keeps me coming back every time. My girlfriend likes it a lot too but not like me while my kid thinks this game is cool because if he wants, there is a 'no wars' options and the game can provide informations in french. I guess example leads but i'm always amazed about the simplicity of gameplay even for a 6 years old boy, and he was 5 when he started playing.Anyway it's me and it's late and my son will be up to jump by 7:00 tomorow so see y'all!

Ciao!

hey all

after lurking for a bit, i finally decided to join. Ive been playing Civ since Civ1 DOS way back in the day, played Civ2Gold on my Mac till the cows came home.
I own Civ3 and all its expansions but never really got into it.. the culture is a nice idea, as are the resouces but it wasnt really executed that well.
Luckily Civ4 made up for it \o/ a worthy Civ game i say!

anyways.. so yea. thats me :)

hello,i am very happy to be a part of this site, were i can really air my views on verey touching issues with other people of like minds.i am an economist from moscow and i think i have a lot of things to gain from this site.

Ahoy hoy all! I was first introduced to the wonders of Civ about 10 years ago when my cousin got me addicted to Civ2. You know what they say, first taste is free. Anyway, I played Civ2 for a while until my disc got lost. I just picked up Civ3 Complete the other day, and am deep in the throes of addiction again. The first night I picked it up, I ended up staying up until 3 AM because I lost all track of time and I needed, "just one more turn."

Konnichiwa everyperson! I am so looking forward to having conversation with you about the building and the growing of empire and the running through enemy with spear as well! It is bringing warm feeling on my heart. We will happy super happy great time discussing the strategy and then we will drink the sake as we standing on top of the body of enemy! Ha Ha!
I am having one question to start: What is deal with railroad? Why it take so long time to move my army with railroad in this game? Why they not take one turn!?

I am JIMKAT and I adore CIV. IV

Hello, hello. I love to play CivIV and I would just like to say that it is a great game (of course, duh) and i've lost what I was going to say

I have played a Mac game called Strategic Conquest for years in fact ever since the Mac came out and up till the Intel Macs you could still play it.
But all things come to an end and finding CIV III was like finding the 21st century version of Strat Con, very much more advanced and capable ot holding me to the screen for hours on end (I could lose weight at this rate, Muscle mass too).
Plus having an online support group that loves the game is great.
Thanks for the Mac Port it is really appreciated.

Civ III player back for more, 1st time on a Civ forum tho :) Great looking place and looking forward to rooting through it for gems of information.

Thanks for it guys!

Hi all you people who are far better than me:

I got civ4 around christmas, and had civ3 way before that. But I had very little idea about how to play compitently until halfway through my civ3 days. That was a year or two ago, and I still can't seem to find a way to play through Prince difficulty! I mean seriously, when I first meet an AI then their score is 2x or more of mine! I actually have never won, due to the accursed space race difficulty, but I have been first in terms of score and distanced from the runner up by over five hundred, so I consider that winning, kind of.

I'm also a veteran of RTS like AOM and AOE3 (aom is far beter).

So yeah, hope I can develop my strat more here!

Flexciv, you might want to post your questions in the Multiplayer and PEBM forum

Yes, I was disappointed in this change too. I enjoyed the freedom of movement in Civ3. I guess the developers thought that railroads were overpowered. I am not sure I agree with their decision but it definitely requires more planning when running a large empire - and more units too.

Oh, and hello fellow citizens! As with so many of you, I became addicted to Civ 2 and have played the newer versions whenever they rolled out. Its a shameful waste of time... but fun! :crazyeye:

Been a long time fan. Started playing CIV I way back when. Loved Civ II but dropped out after that. Was actually brought back into Civ III by my 12 year old "little brother" who I mentor. His enthusiasm was contagious and I've been playing for about a year now. A great game.

... say hello everybody!

civ, civ II, call to power I & II, alpha centaury (stop laughing ;) ) , civ III and now civ IV. But I never try to take part of the civ community. It'snt true anymore.

so, let's fill the civ IV 9th GOTM register form now, it's time for me to build empire :king:

CU

Xmass.
