Greetings everyone,

I have just discovered the Civ fanatics website, and from my first impressions its really great. Everything within the Civilization universe is covered in here and this site is really helpfull especially as regards the download of scenarios and mods - i don't have to fish for them all over the net

Well, i'm proud to say that my first ever PC game i played was Civilization 2 back in 1999. At first being my first game i found it hard to get into it - but once i did i was addicted for months. In fact i was so addicted that the second game i bought was the Age of Kings in early 2000!!!. Subsequently i also played Civilization 3 and Conquests which impressed me very much.

Now i'm playing Civilization 4, which is as great as it predecessors if not more
Unfortunately i'm still waiting for my copy of Warlords, which from the previews and the reviews appears to be a great expansion to the strategy game of the year. However i am enjoying the numerous mods and scenarios which are posted by creative and talented people for everyone to enjoy. I never knew that Civilization had such a big prosperous and bustling community.

Hello everyone, I have enjoyed the CIV series for many years now. I have joined this site hoping to get a little more in depth in CivIV. I am interested in getting into some modding, as I have some great ideas (a post-apocalyptic 'Mad Max' type mod for one). Looking forward to chatting with other Civ fans!

I have been playing Sid's Civilization since the release of version 1, which really dates me. I have been reading the Fanatics for a few years and finally decided to join with the release of vesion IV. Hopefully, let the cultural wars begin.

I have been playing CIV since it was first released and I have played every version since then. I am currently playing CIV IV on my PC and CIV III on my iMAC. I have ordered CIV IV for my iMac and CIV IV: Warlords for my PC.

What can I say - It's a great game.

Side Note: I am an avid reader of history and enjoy historical miniature wargaming.

this game is worth of it, i'm gonna do this again after more than 10 years of retirement when i mastered civ2.

BTW, AlexTheGreat was never been Greek. He was ancient Macedonian - the civ&ppl that mustn't be mistaken with ancient greeks.

Been reading these forums a while, thought I'd post and say hello.

I'm 21 yrs old, recent college graduate (Computer Science degree). Currently a Software developer/test engineer, though I'm interested in eventually doing a phd in an AI kinda area.

These days I play Civ 4 Warlords. I always play on Noble (where AI has same resources as human) because I extremely dislike playing at a huge disadvantage just cos the AI isn't smart enough. I'd rather a smarter AI, not a more cheating one, as they say. Playing on higher difficulty levels would be more challenging, but it would be less fun for me.

With that in mind, I'll probably have a go at the SDK to improve the Civ 4 AI at some stage when I have more time. That would be a worthwhile project.

I visit the civfanatics site pretty often since, like most people here, I am addicted to this game... I spend quite a lot of time playing it, probably more than I should so I decided to sign up to share my opinion on it from time to time.

I play both Civ3 and Civ4 on Monarch and these forums have helped me a lot to improve my style and civ knowledge. So I guess I should thank all of you people that support the site and the fans that post in it too - thanks!

Just look inside the ...Saves\single\auto (when loading a saved game, you already are in the ...saves\single directory, explode the small + on the tree to reveal the auto directory.

Hi all. I am a total CIV fan. I remember playing CIV (the first one) and realizing how I would play just one more turn....



I love the game!! I used to play it often in MSN's The ZONE but that got shut down so now I don't know where else someone can go to play the game.

Anyone here know of any other gaming sites for multiplayer games?
