WH Discussion Thread

Remember though, Dwarves don't really love gold.... They just tell it that to get it in bed. (a quote directly from one of Terry Prachett's Discworld novels).

Well, the armor isn't actually made of Gold. Gold Bends. Its just.. colored gold. With.. Paint. Burnished Gold Citadel Paint. The Dorfs went and paid 3.50 for it.

Im playing a game as the noble Bretonnians (kicked the Druchii's arses :D), and i just built the Fighter's Guild. since bretonnians are "too proud" to hire mercenaries, should they be able to build it?

or should it become obsolete with Knightly Virtues or whatever their no-era tech is?

btw, stormy, estalia is playing in this game (random, standard size, 70% water, continents) and are about average strength (they are halfway down the points list thingy)

That's me. I'm a sword pimp.

Will Ogres still be available to civs like the Slaan and Khemri? I don't know anything about the new warhammer (with an Ogre Kingdoms book out I'm not really surprised by whatever else they do...) but that sorta cooperation strikes me as odd. I assume the concept is fudged for game balance purposes...though in cases like the Khemri, they could easily have something like their Ushabti in that stat range at Dogs of War.

That's just your own racist prejudice shining through. Geograhpical distances aside, Slann and Khemri are as likely to use Ogres as any Human or Orc army. Tomb Kings can even take regular Giants in current WH rules (That's not in the game, though, and should not be).

It's only harsh if you take a discussion on fictional toy soliders seriously, or worried about people thinking you're bigoted against the dead or humanoid lizards ;)

The Undead don't hate all living though, that's a misconception. You may not have heard of either them or Lizardmen making use of Ogre mercenaries, but then have you heard of any Elves using them? Of course it's an odd kind of co-operation, but Tomb Kings and the Lizardmen are even able to ally with the Empire in the actual game, so the notion that such creatures never use living warm-bloods as allies is entirely incorrect...

Vampires loooooove living creatures :D

my mates elves have some ogres.

I'm sorry, but your argument that ogres and Lizardmen don't go together is based on the fact that you don't know any Lizardmen players who take them in their armies? kairob, go and stand in the corner.

Here's a mystical sneak preview of what I'm working at currently :) - some of you might know what it is...
