I have a old laptop with XP sp1 1 ghz 256 ram, pIII Civ 4 installed whilst on my desktop which is windows ME it didnt even accept the CD into the drive. When i try to run the game on my laptop all is cool til i get the failed to initlialize renderer error. Now i just want to know is it possible to play this game? I dont know if i have a graphics card or not, but when i go to display options it says i have a SiS 630, 730 for graphics. Anyone know what this is and which drivers will make civ 4 work if you hold this SiS crap ? thanks for your help. :nuke:

Sis chips are not supported by CIV IV. Graphics chips for the most part will not work with high end 3d games and sis is by far and away the worst.

The game requirements also state u need a p4 and 512 mb of ram when running winxp.

I seem to have a SiS650 chip?
I can run the Tutorial but the intro is choppy, in video and sound.
When I run the standard solo play, or anything, I get a Video Memory problem
This game was a gift from my twin sons, for Christmas.
I have been a devotee of all Civilsation games, but am stumped by this!!!
Rest of P.C.ok. Any help would be appreciated.
Dad
