what are the REAL system requirements

If I were to choke down my resentment  with the games producers for releasing a game with so many bugs, and misleading customers about the system requirements for fully functional game, and decided to upgrade my tower and video card--what kind of system would make this game run without any hitches?

FYI--I don't plan to make such an investment based on Firaxis's poor performance on this release, but I am curious as to what it actually takes to make this thing work.

I am about to buy a new desktop anyway. Are there some choices I could make that would make it more likely that CivIV will run on the new computer?

I've seen the list of video cards under the "TnL get your facts straight (cart included)" thread. But some people report that CivIV won't run even with some of the cards that are supposed to work.

Processor speed appears to be key. Those who report that CivIV runs well even on their "crappier" computers seem to have faster processors, and large amounts of memory as well. For example, one poster said that he or she got it running on an old laptop that had Intel integrated graphics.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've got an Athlon XP 3000+ in an emachines. It ran fine for me for a while but then once i got later in the game(past 1000AD) it slowed to a crawl. But im sure that has nothing to do with my processor rather the fact that i have an INTEGRATED graphics card lol :)

The game runs fine on my machine at 1280 x 1024 (after I installed the ATI 4.12 drivers that is):

AMD 1600
1GB PC2700 RAM
Radeon 9600 Pro, 128MB
