What are vampires?

Does anyone have any info on what exactly vampires are in the FFH world? I know Alexis and Flauros got their start as normal humans who ate human souls to extend their lives, but it seems like in the modern day they drink blood just like normal vampires. Did eating souls for so long transform them or something?

I know I'm Necromancing the thread, but I have to ask, how did you handle vampires? Did you just use Monster Manual I or did you custom build them for the Calabim?

I ask because I'm making FFH inspired D&D 3.5 campaigns as well.

The most important thing to know about vampires in FFH is that they are not undead.

They are all direct descendants of Alexis or Flaurus. Alexis killed an acolyte of Lugus and trapped his soul. She shared the secret with her brother and all vampires are from them. (not sure if there are any vampires from both of them, might be).
