I started that as well. I really like the tracing of the initial epidemiology of the disease in the first few chapters.

The Hot Zone by Richard Preston

I've just started Good Omens by Pratchet and Gaiman.

Jan Burka: To Paint for Survival

about his experiences in the holocaust, as a citizen of the Sudetenland, and how the only reason he survived the ghetto was by painting. Written in French, English, and Czech, with a lot of his and other Terezin artists' works as well as a great story. was given to me by someone, can only buy it in Europe.

Surely You Must be Joking, Mr. Feynman.

Wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and so far it really sucks.

Intellectual Impostures (published in the US as Fashionable Nonsense) by Alan Sokal and Jean Bricmont

How far into it are you? I loved the entire Sokal hoax, but at a certain point the book gets a bit repetitive and dull IMO.

Has anybody read his new book, Beyond The Hoax?

The Lightning Thief-Rick Riordan

kid book......but an interesting take on Greek mythology

also
Foxtrotius Maximus......hilarious

Finished it y'dy night. Yes, it gets a bit slow in places, but it's a pretty good read on the whole.

I'll be checking if the library's got it next time I go there.

I found it a pleasant afternoon diversion (unaware of any fuss).

Currently I'm having another crack at Sartre's Being and Nothingness (in translation, but offhand I dunno who translated it).

Finished How the Ocean Works by Mark Denny. It's a really good introduction to oceangraphy, even if you don't have the science background (it goes over the basic physics, chemistry and biology if need be) while being clear and readable to boot.

Just finished all my Lovecraft omnibuses, so not it is time to move on to 'Super Science' by Mike White.
