I don't have much additional time to put aside for doing your units' storyboards as well as my own, sorry. Maybe someone else would like to assist. Perhaps while you are rendering, you can fix the missing driver issue. From the sounds of it, you just need to reinstall your original SiL driver (or something like that). Might be a compatibility issue with the driver version and Windows7/programs that is causing it.

BSOD's, if left unchecked can cause damage to your computer in some cases. It's always a good idea to find and solve the issue asap. There are plenty of people that will assist you in various tech forums around the net also.

If your computer crashes when you open Flicster, you have a serious problem that you should fix anyways. If you don't spend an hour to fix a BSOD caused by a driver, why should I spend hours doing storyboards and palettes? I'm not the only one on these forums that can help, but I went out of my way to try to help with the BSOD. Picking a quote and quoting it out of context is going a bit too far.

I said that because you said you needed Russian units and said they were for another game.

When you explained that statement, I decided I would give them a shot (for free, this is just a hobby), but I said clearly it would probably be some time. Furthermore, it's quicker for someone to make a unit in Poser than to rig, skin a mesh in 3ds, Blender, etc.

Relax, it was just a joke.
And I was looking not for russian soldiers for ""another game", I was looking for 3d models of PLA vehicles. And I think there is no reason to keep in secret - my "another game" is a new game mod for civ 3. If you ever played any of "Total War" games - you must remember, that all moves on the map are like in civ 3, and all battles are like in any RTS game. Fortunately, my programming skills allowed me to make for civ 3 something like this. To realise my idea I used game engine from "Sudden Strike". But there is still too much work to do. Now I have no progress because I haven't found models I requested.

Please do not be sad or discouraged from continuing your project. I am very familiar with both of those games you mention and I believe you have a great idea. No one has done anything like what you are proposing and I am very interested in seeing it.

If any of the artists here do not reply to you when you try to share do not be discouraged. Many people are very busy in real life and sometimes they don't have time to respond.

And this is going to be a single game, just original Civ 3 (modern age only) with new game mode - map turns will stay as they are (TBS) and battles between units will change to real-time battles (RTS), like 2 games in 1. So for example when you creating a unit - (Field Commander, General or Army Leader), you also have to recruit units (from original civ 3 or any units from this site) under his command. Field Commander can recruit 10 units, General - 25 and Army Leader - 50. So the battle is almost the same as in "Total War", "Cossacs" or "Sudden Strike". Hope I'll complete it as fast as I can.

Have you seen this thread? If I would find all of my requested models - I would be happy at last and I would finally complete my PLA forces

You found NOTHING I was looking for. In fact, you posted models that I already had for many years. I don't know if it's a error in translation, or the fact I've never had any positive interactions with Russians because you just didn't get the hint you had nothing I needed. I have them but will not willingly share for nothing in return. I have stated publicly on this forum that I received all of La_dav's tank models from him personally and gave him my word that I would not share them. You don't seem to understand that concept because you keep asking for them. Giving them to you would make me a liar.

You say that you have models in exchange, you gave me a big list of tanks. Tanks I already have. Models that are readily available on a lot of online 3dforums or have been pirated from expensive 3d catalogues. Oh, and at least you could have did a little research and not listed tanks that I have already turned into units for Civ3.

You posted a screenshot of 1 reply I sent back to you. I was (that's an internet hint that the verb is now past-tense) interested until your reply soon afterwards.

I have exported them from battlefield 2, they have textures, but I'm not good user of 3ds max and I just don't know how to apply them((( If you want any model from original battlefield 2 - tell me and I'll export it for you

If you can't apply the textures to them, how could I? I've used BF1942 models before, and they are VERY low-poly and completely worthless to me without the textures. I lost interest after that. Dealing with you is just too much trouble.

At one point I even helped you out by giving you the location of a chinese 3dforum that had a few of the models you were looking for. The reason you could not see any download links is because you need to become a member and get download credits. It was all written in the user agreement how to do that, setting the forum to English and (hopefully) using your browser to auto-translate back into Russian would have given you a clearer answer. I didn't tell you this because I just assumed you would be smart enough to figure that out. I mean why would I have a link in my signature for months to a WZ-10 helicopter on that forum?? Why? Because the more people that clicked that link, the more model download credits I would get just by the amount of different visitors I would get to that forum. And it worked.


And as for Russians. Every single rooskie I have met, from the soldiers garrisoned in my hometown where I was born, to my Russian Language professor in college, to a jerk I ran into at a bar and a half dozen other FOB's I have personally met.... all those interactions have not been positive and have left me with a very low opinion of you people.
