What can you do about inflation?

I am running a late era game with around ten solid cities and great commerce, but I noticed that my gpt was getting smaller. I looked at my financial advisor and I say that I was paying over 175% in inflation. I was wondering how to fight it. I know that by cutting my expenses the amount will drop, but how do I fight the percentage? Is there anyway, or am I stuck with it?

you can't fight inflation directly, but there is an event that enables you to reduce it

Aside from one random event which will give you the chance to pay a lump sum for a 25% reduction in inflation, it is out of your control. 175% is unusually high for a recent version of BtS - have you gone past 2050AD?

I am just before 2050AD. I and the number was around 171% when I checked awhile ago.

No, it's cottages that are cause global warming, that in turn causes inflation. All that extra driving caused by urban sprawl and the suburbs. Not to mention that a small apartment is much more energy efficient than a sprawling two story house occupied by three people.

The best solution to global warming, and thus inflation, is massive urbanization, which means lots of specalists.

Seriously, the only solution to inflation is winning the game earlier.
