What different types of work/jobs did you do up to now?

Pro-tip, you can really annoy McDonald's workers by repeatedly asking to talk to the Vice President of Give Me My Goddamn Food In Five Minutes Or Less

Just to be clear this is a total joke and I'm always really nice to the McDonald's workers

Yeah, we know you only pretend to be a jerk here.

Yes, it costs nothing to be nice, especially to poorly paid service workers.

I don't doubt it. You and tim would probably make for a good evening out drinking.

Move to another city to pursue your passion of a $13/hr line cook job.
Why not though? If he likes it and can get better paid in a city with much lower living costs, it makes sense to me.

Most people aren't willing to upend their entire life for the crisp opportunity of $13/hr.

Well you also have to consider the different between living costs. It could be a very significant improvement in quality of life all things considered. $13 per hour might be a hunger wage in London or New York, but it's not that bad in many places. So if you have the choice of making $9/hr in an exoe sove place or $13/hr in a cheap place, unless you have very strong personal reasons to stay, you should consider it.

My first job when I was a teenager was as a cashier at McDonalds, I did that for a couple years. After college I got a job working in insurance adjusting, I'd have to do like cataloging of peoples' possessions after fires and estimate replacement values, I felt that job was extremely depressing, and it had nothing at all to do with my degree in accounting. I moved from Canada to the United States, and my aunt helped me get a job as a bank teller, and I worked there for like four years, then I moved again and got a job in another bank in customer service. I was doing that job for one year, then I moved into fraud, and after about a year I moved into fraud data analytics, and I've been doing that for like six years now. I was promoted to Vice President in February, I don't have any people I manage or anything, but I'm pretty much like the central person for fraud analytics, and I've probably hit my ceiling now because I have no management experience, like ever.
Welcome to OT @ CFC.

In the past I've done:

-Costume character
-Supermarket checkout worker
-Adjudication and coaching high school debating
-Cashier at an internet cafe
-Captioning TV news

Now I'm a public servant in data and statistics related roles.

On the side I occasionally host pub trivia nights and as of June I have also earned a very small amount from contributing to a published book about football.

I was a mean drunk...but I'm a lot of fun over one beer and endless iced tea.
I'll admit I don't drink like I did when I was younger, 3-4 beers is usually my night out. Ok, maybe 5 if I'm golfing ;)

When I was younger three or four beers wouldn't give me a buzz unless I hammered them in a matter of minutes, but having been a one beer guy for a couple decades I could probably get pretty tilted off such a meager outing. But as I said, I recognize that me tilted is not who I prefer to be any more.

Yeah, I don't drink to the point of getting smashed anymore but sometimes over do it a little bit. But I was never a mean drunk so it doesn't end badly.
