Some gets donated, most I disassemble and put away for storage. Who known, maybe ill find a way to put those 32 P3's to work someday. Would need a few new mobo's though...
When my mom got her flatscreen LCD monitor, we stuck the old monitor up in the closet. Also, we have a lot of mice and keyboards laying around. Otherwise, no other hardware. I do know when I do upgrade, I'll keep the old ones for backup.
I replaced everything in my computer (except sound card, dvd writer and dvd reader) a year ago, and I am reusing those parts to build a new computer for my mother (with some new parts that I didn't have spare).
Is there a 'save it all in the hopes that someday I'll do something with it until I have a box of assorted graphics cards, joysticks, memory, cords and spare parts that I've forgotten what they are, and that the wife now won't let me get rid of because she's convinced a 20 year old peice of probably-non-functional computer hardware could be worth big bucks so I have to keep it forever' option?
