Hatty / HC / JC / Willem / Liz for me. That's a matter of flavor though. Darius > JC in many situations.

Eh. I think Ganhdi is a pretty cool guy. Has fast workers and doesn't afraid of anything.

I've started playing him, and he's the first leader I've given much time to who has the spiritual trait.

It's nice. I'd estimate that even without abusing it to flip civics to whip/draft armies it's awesomely powerful.

Ask yourself this question? How many times have you wished you were just a couple turns faster on getting something done? Be it racing for a key wonder, or a key tech. If you are playing spiritual, you probably save 10ish turns over the course of a normal game, and even more over the course of epic/marathon games. More if you switch civics a lot, less if you have BTS and only switch civics during a golden age or when you have no other option.

As others have already noted, Spi provides the human player with some great tools. Phi, while not to my mind a strong trait, does give a serious boost to your GP farm. The Espionage enhancements from the Mausoleum are useful both in war and peace. Ghandi's UU is the only one in the game that's not era-specific and that's worth something in itself.

Gandhi has done all right by us. (Pleased)

I lol'd.

Anyway, people like Gandhi, and not without good reason, but I've never especially cared for him. I don't particularly like the spiritual trait, and the Indians uniques don't appeal to me.

Us? What are you Gollum. LOL, Just kidding:), what do you mean by us?

Edit. Ooooh the leader responce, never mind.

In my games I've only played againt him. He's one of the best AIs to encounter, because he's so friendly no matter what you do to him.

Sadly (for him), he's also the most unpopular in every game he shows up in. The last time he appeared he was the worst enemy of all three leading civs and I've never seen him survive long enough to get his UB, he always gets wiped out by his neighbours.

Really good. Phi is one of the top traits (as Fin). Spi follows closely. And both create a powerful
synergy. The UU is very good,no matter the map or the goals.
And if a religious game becomes possible (not a lot of religions, one early Holy city well spread is
enough) then he is very hard to be beaten.
Best regards,

I'm an espionage whore, so I'll be building jails anyway. The extra happiness from the Mausoleum is just a bonus.

I'm not as hot for Philosophical as a lot of people. I tend to get enough Great People as it is, and the only other bonus is quicker University. If it sped up monasteries, too, I would like it better.

When you say Civilization 4 Gandhi is the First person to come to mind. He's sorta, the "symbol" if you will, for the game.

I'm not so sure that many would agree with you. I don't. Gandhi doesn't come to mind nearly as quickly as Monty does. Or Catherine, Isabella, Shaka.

So let's ask the question, what do you think of Gandhi, come to think of it he really isn't that good, or is he?

I am indifferent to Gandhi. I don't think I've played him since the free Civ4 demo.
