Germans. Definitely.
Militaristic/Scientific fits them
like a glove. Bismarck is a good choice as
well, Panzers are *well said curtsibling*
awesome cool.
Militaristic/Scientific will be challenging;
will require real leadership - no boring sitting
back building and developing on your island and
after 6000 years finally cleaning up.
You, fighting your way out of Europe cramped
with 3-4 civs, when you're finally done it comes
down to you and the isolated civs which had all
the time to develop. This will be hell on deity.
And I'll love it.

I definately am looking forward to the Russians.

First of all, CATHERINE THE GREAT is their leader. I love Catherine -- and it's not for those dreaded horse rumors, either. :p

The only thing I dislike about the Russians is they are a "Scientific" nation. Feh -- Russia has always been in the dark ages and been strict believers in quantity over quality. I know that the Civ3 designers wanted no two civs to have the same characteristic, but the Russians being "scientific" is a little bit of a stretch.

However, Catherine was a very smart individual who modernized Russia, so that can make sense, but ehhh...

I also LOVE the Cossack -- it's one of the very few Civ3 special units that actually makes sense with its civilization.

So I think the Russians will be a heckuva lot of fun to play. ;)

It makes perfect sense to the Russians being Scientific! (who were the first to get to space?) ;)

Even now, aldo all the difficulties of the Russian Economy, they are still the leaders in space technology (in case you didn't know)! What they don't have is the money to use it, so they sell it to other nations (U.S.A. and E.U.)! ;)

In case you don't know neither, the E.U. is the leader in satellite reliabity! ;)

P.S.: E.U. stands for "European Union"

I will play as germans......cant wait to drive wave after wave of Panzers against my ememies

:tank: :tank: :tank: :tank: :tank:

I started out playing the Romans and Greeks, but lately I have been playing with the Aztecs. I like the religious attribute, also the military. The fact that you get the special unit early can, I think, help put you ahead early. Its like a souped up scout, so expansion is easy, early. I try not to get into too many wars using it. It is more useful to find resources for use in better units, espcially horsemen. Also, I think that perhaps getting your special unit in the ancient age can help you more than getting it in later eras. I'll have to play more to work out that thesis.

Using culture when I can, military where I must. Making sure to gain sources of strat resources.

take the the british, greek or egyptian civ if u respekt the human right
take the Americans germans or chinese/japanese if u **** of human rights

1British
2Greek
3egyptian

even the iroqois are more human than the usa

:egypt: press thousand of people to slavery (and kill them with brutal hard work) to build gigantic tombs nobody really needs is not really human in my thoughts. :egypt:

Imagine that, a decendant of a F*cking Nazi telling the world who stands for human rights. Isn't it Ironic...

My favorite Civ? Germans. Definately the Germans. Of course, I've been playing as the Germans since the days of the original Civilization. However, I like how each civ has been given more "flavor" in Civ 3.

So my favorite Civilization for Civ 3? Still the Germans. Bismark is a great choice for leader, better than the Frederick of old, and he looks awesome in his Uniform. I think having the Germans be militaristic and Scientific fits them well. And (of course) I just love the Panzers as the Germans Unique unit. I typicially have a big stupid grin on my face as my Panzer divisions roll across my enemies territories, laying waste to all in their path.

My second favorite Civ? hmm... dunno there. The Japanese are cool, so are the Iroquois. Babylon is fairly cool too. Just dun know what comes in as my #2 favorite.

Least Favorite would probably be the French.

Ones I'd like to see in the game would include perhaps Vikings, Australians, and Mayans

The Iroquois, IMHO are the best civ. You can't beat Religious/Expansionists. The Greeks come in a close second, I love the Hoplite. :goodjob:

germans are indeed superior but they never did eternal things like the british, greek or egyptian.
the greek where the most theological civ. (ancient)
the egyptians did things in there time period that has never be done again or bevore and the british brought us the world order that we still live on and that finally kills us all or brings us into space

PS: (i think germans(europeans) or russians will land people on moon bevore nasa do.)

i prefer the british couse of abolishing slavery, giving us the kick start for modern civilization and fighting the nazis right from the start. (but chamberlain was an geek full of fear)

Got to go with the Japanese, Militaristic and Religious are the best, cheap temples and barracks, and lots of GL's. The samurai is great in the middle ages and the animation of him drawing the sword out of the scabbard and wiping it off after he finishes off an enemy is the best.:goodjob:

I go with Iroquais (how are they spelled) and the zulus.
Simply because they are so different from where I come from. (In reality, you know)
Then Egypt, Babylon and Rome.

(Also becuase of their history.)

And another opinion.
I can´t really understand why the Americans are in the game.
Yes, they have huge political power, and yes their military can back their threats 100 %, but they haven´t ever conqered anything but money and fat. (Watching Ricky Lake. Just kidding)
With all respect, I dont understand why they´re one of the civs.
Perhaps Spain should have taken their place.

I always see to it that they are destroyed first.

My fav trait is scientific. My second is a toss-up between militaristic and religious. Germans are miltiristic and scientific while babylonians are religous and scientific. So I decided to choose by special unit and I choose the Panzer, which in my opinion is the best nique unit in the game.

I can't stand the Germans. First off, I'm not exactly a big-military guy (quality over quantity I suppose) so I'm always floundering through the dark and middle ages, and when I finally reach the industrial era it's still a real push to get to the head of the pack. The Germans are a contradiction in themselves; if you want to support a large military you need money, and if you want alot of science you need more money. So you end up fighting between maintaining a larger military or cutting the science rate (I usually do that latter simply because it's easier and I'm lazy). So I don't like the Germans...you end up in a Soviet-like position and your economy collapses when you need it most.

I do like the Japanese as a militaristic civ, however. Chinese are great because you get the worker actions faster and with the industrious quality you can pump out men faster. I usually buy my tech off of other civs in the first place (under Communism, running a high tax rate and somewhat low science rate). So that kinda plays out.

Like I said, the Germans' qualities contradict themselves, and squander their potential. The Greeks, Japanese/Aztecs, French (especially), Chinese, Babylonians, and Russians' characteristics compliment eachother. The others don't affect their 2nd attribute in any way watsoever.
