No play-thrus since Saturday night, that's more than thirty-six hours. I can't take it, I tell you, I can't take it. My hands are shaking, and I wasn't able to sleep last night. I haven't had a drink in three years, but I've been eyeing that unopened bottle of bourbon that I've got in the kitchen cabinet. I need me some Rocktopus. I'm craving my daily ration of miasma. For crying out loud, I've gotta have some Harmony in my life!

Seriously though, I'm realizing just how much I've been relying upon MD's play-thrus to get me through until I can play the game myself. But, at least tomorrow's what I like to call Ten-Day Tuesday since it is ten days from release. Woo-hoo!

It can be so, that MD actually have a life. I know it sounds strange and so much out of the box, but it can be the case. He should stop with that "having a life" syndrom :D

As much as I enjoy MadDjinn's personality and play, I personally am taking a break from preview vids until BE's release in 10 days. I've learned about all I care to about the game and know I can leap into play once its activated on my PC. I've also learned that polish and balance is still ongoing and numbers I'm seeing in previews are subject to change by the time I get my hands on BE. So think of it as a pause to charge my batteries. Just speaking for myself, of course - I have no bone to pick with anyone who feels differently.

However, I'm still waiting eagerly to see more vids from Firaxicon's panels and participants. :)

/facepalm canadian thanksgiving

I'm not sure if it made it into the vod, but he said he'd be out sunday and probably today.

I only previewed one of his vids. I like to keep track of a developing game, but I don't like to know every single detail before it gets released. There is something to be said for still having that new shiny feeling when you load up the game for the first time :yumyum:

Unless of course he is one of the players who rarely get to the end game and find the initial play through of discovery, luxuries and planting cities the best bit like me :) Hardly can ever be bothered to load a save...

Glad it's not just me--think I start about 10 games for every game I actually finish. . . .

Getting one of us a copy of the prerelease build and showing us how to youtube in your stead before going on holiday would have been the polite thing to do :p

Agreed. I love the development of the capital (resource/location strategizing), as well as exploration and the archaeology... by around the development of flight, I'm bored and getting the urge to start a new game. Of course, it helps that I don't go in for domination, so that kinda explains that.

I think I'm going to enjoy BE much more... in addition to the sci-fi theme, it looks like civ development will be much more complex this time around.

My Dad plays Civilization a lot, but I think he rarely finishes a game -- it's the early expansion and contest that he likes.

To each his own.

Actually I'm a bit like your dad. I love the early stuff, trying to setup my empire as best I can.

That's probably why I end up making dumb decisions late game, especially when warring.

Interesting. I am the same way too. I have a hard time playing past the renaissance era in BNW. The game just starts boring me to pieces. But I love the early game with the exploration and the challenge of setting up a strong empire.

I am actually optimistic that BE will be different and I will actually enjoy playing all the way till the end.

Yeah, I've felt I've gotten all I can out of watching other people play for a few weeks. I'm going to have to actually play now to enjoy the game.
