What is "Culturally Linked Starting Locations"??

Hi. I am new to these forums but I have been playing Civ3 for many months now. I just got the new patch today and was wondering what "Culturally Linked Starting Locations"--a new option added to the rules--is exactly. Thank you, and you guys have the best map forum around!

The User-created Maps forum, as stated in it's subtitle, is only for posting of new maps, not for posting of questions.

It means that the positions of the civilisation's first settler would be realive to those of other civilisations who in the real world are closest to them.

In other words, with Culturally linked starting positions enabled, China and Japan would start close together, Germany and France ect ect.

Hope this cleared things up.

Oooooh, I get it. Thanks a lot man. That is a cool option. Could you use it prior to the new patch?

Yes, you could, but it was in the preferences screen instead of a rule.
