What is the "cow glitch"?

not really since in civ 4 cattle are both immovable and immortal. And the predators seem to think scouts are tastier :p

Skyclad's is the superior.

Except if you get the John Wayne GP.

"God willin' and the river don't rise", my favorite JW quote (or JW's screenwriter, as is most likely).

"not really since in civ 4 cattle are both immovable and immortal"

Fact- climate Zones keep cattle in "one spot" and they have exsisted since the first civilization.
(immortal via genetics)

Fact- Predators killing others animals can not be notated by the other animals- they can be by
man- ergo- predators attacks on man are noted in history - not animal vs animal

the evidence is clear- life imitates civ4

That statement is false and overrates the quoted person by a great margin ;) By some strange reason he refuses to awnser when someone notes inconsistencies in his reasoning/game examples and talks of something else or simply becomes silent ( I'm still expecting for him to explain to me in detail how can a person get the CoL religion before turn 85 ( normal speed ) on Emperor with two cities, no wonders except GW, no bulbs, no Alphabet and no libraries, as he suposedely did in one of his game examples ). That , my friend, is the exact oposite of being unbeatable ...

Well, on topic ... treating a 3 F tile as a food resource is a little extreme indeed :(

You have a good thing going dude, argumenting wierd things you dont believe to make someone take you seriously... Thats a great gig. Just try to be more coherent and witty and you will do great! And mix up your formula a bit.

Isn't Rice the worst possible Food ressource?
I mean, Rice gives 1:food: and with Irrigation another 1:food:.
Cow gives 1:food: and with AH 1:food: and 2:hammers:.

So Rice on plains would be the worst glitch eva, not Cow?! Am I missing something?

Rice doesnt exist on plains. Unirrigated, farmed rice, is 4 food, and irrigated is 5. In Either case, more food than a plains cow (though 3 less hammers so I would probably still take the cow, rice really is horsehockey)

Grassland give 2:food:, Rice 1:food: and Irrigation 1:food: for a total of -> 3:food: unirrigated / 4:food: irrigated.
Cow on plains would be indeed worse foodwise, with 2:food: 1:hammers: unimproved, or 3:food: and 3:hammers: improved.

For me those 3:hammers: would be better then that extra 1:food: in almost any case, even if the city grows abit slower, or?

So Rice is the worst Food ressource of all IMO (especially in the long run). Or people still think Plains-Cow is worse?

No

RIce with no improvement = 3 food
Rice with farm, but no fresh water = 4 food
Rice with farm and fresh water = 5 food.

So irrigated farmed rice, I would rather have as a food resource than plain cows if I also had hills etc, of course it always depends.
Its unirrigated rice, thats worse than floodplains!

Really, why did they do that? Isnt corn the least nutricious of the crops represented in civ4? And its the one that gives the most food!

Supposedly you're supposed to get 2 food resources in the BFC. One plains cow and a single flood plain constitutes this how? FP is not a resource by itself, especially not ONE FP!

Yeah thats pretty terrible lol. But at least, if you get one FP, you most likely got another 3 or so. Rarely do I only get one.

Also, thats "at least" 2 food resources correct? Cos sometimes Ive had like, 5 seafood in my BFC  GP farm here we go!

also, they really should not allow starting locations on coast with no seafood.

"Yes I would love for half of my capitols tiles to be 2food, 3/2/1 commerce for the rest of the game!"

IF you have only a few coastal tiles, and at least one seafood its ok. But when its 6+ tiles and no seafood it starts to piss me off.

I have read the entire thread, but I still haven't found a compelling argument a plains cow is a "glitch".

The term indicates unwanted or unintended behavior, and I don't see why a plains cow would register as such.

Getting a plains cow as a food resource in your BFC strikes me as not great but still reasonable. Improved, it's 3 food 3 hammers and a health resource.

You don't have to like it, but why are you calling things you don't like "glitches"? For what I can read from the thread, nothing suggests a plains cow wasn't intentionally one of the possible food resources in your BFC.
