what is the throne room?

What would be cool is if it showed your thrown room as your background to your leaderhead. (Assuming AI's gain thrown room upgrades too which I doubt.)

oh please forgive me for making fun of a typo, i sure do them myself too.

but a "thrown" room might be more fun than a throne room actually. let grenadiers throw couches and coffee tables! trebuchets launching flaming pianos into the air!

If I could mod worth a bean, I'd be running home right now to mod a surrealist Civ4. Weapons of fruit, and natural resources like pencils, and terrain improvements like wigs... as long as it didn't make sense, it would be included!

LOL, I never even noticed the typo.
Hey, I thought of something else, what if the thrown room had a large world map you could click on and then scroll around on. You could draw on it too.

It would be similar to the globe but wouldn't be a globe but a flat map. For me, the minimap is too small on Huge maps and the globe doesnt allow me to see everything in full view. On this map you could zoom in and out and the current cultural borders would already be on it. I think it would be cool if it looked like an actual map on parchment too.

yeah, i think that would give a more "accesible" possibility to the strategy layer. from the top in a huge map i can barely see what i am drawing.

eventually, the throne room would become something like a war room, and whatever you draw on the map stays on the map and appears on the big one.

Apparently the throne room is at least partially coded in Civ 4 already. Check out this file:

Don't know if the actual pictures are pakked in Civ 4, but it looks like all someone needs to do is put on the finishing touches. I have a sneaking suspicion the throne room will probably be in the next expansion.

I like this idea. On the back wall would be a big map of the planet, where you could see your bombers on their way to set off a nuclear war. "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"
