What is this piece of music?

This question has been driving me insane for days, so I would be desperately grateful if anyone here could give me some help on this one. In civ3, there's a music track which I think is called IndGRFull (I may be wrong though, but it's definately Ind something). It's a classical piano piece a little over 5 minutes long, and I would really like to know what it's called and who it's by.
Thanks in advance if anyone knows.

Ah my hero! I've spent a truly frightning amount of time searching the internet for what that piece was called. It's undoubtedly my favourite tune from civ3, It's a pity they didn't put it in civ4 as well.

It's not in the Ancient World, is it? Or Medieval? Please tell me where this Haydn sonata comes in the game.

stwils

Actually, it's in the Industrial Age. You also hear it at the start of the Napoleonic Europe Conquests scenario.

You know, every single time I see "What's this piece of music" it always ends up being the Haydn piece.

It's a good piece (I have a CD with it on it), but is the rest of the music crap (or so much worse) that the Haydn piece stands above the rest?

:wallbash: Of course it is. The Modern Age music is incredibly boring.

Am I the only one who likes the Modern age music?

well, I agree it is a little bit boring, those people at Firaxis who choose the music lack guts, they should have used "heavier" RocknRoll, Techno and trance. And lots of electric guitar

My fav is SmashFULL, but even that song is boringly tame.

For the industrial age IndGRFull is indeed the best. The age is lacking Beethoven style music though, you know, where the music starts calm, then there is suddenly an explosion of drums and horns and whatever instruments they used for that kind of stuff.

The same could be said for the drums in most of the AA, they failed to give it a sense of awe and power.

And they should have used a bit of march music here and there, not to much, because march music can get boring to, if it is used to much.

Its only worse in Civ4. :( (with the exception of the title song, which is great, no, perfect!) Most of the music in Civ4 is even more boringly tame. The variation is too subtle.

I would like to hear Trumpet Voluntary by Jeremiah Clarke as my first MGL is escorted back to safety.

Wait, wait... I can do that.

Hmm, music triggered by events in the game, yes that would add a lot more depth and flavor than just simply "background music."

One of the rewards for getting to a new age is the sudden change in music. Even if it is a piece you don't like, its still refreshing to hear something else than what you hear during the entire previous age.

They should have done more with that, rewarding players with special pieces of music, that only play when the player is doing special. Like starting a war, or having achieved something, like winning a war, or completing a wonder. (that may even be better than wonder movies you would skip after having seen them a few times)

If you were to make your own scenario (because you don't want to overwrite anything that already exists, do you?) then you could make different music play when build a wonder (although it will be the same for every wonder!)

Incidently, I like a lot of the music from the Conquests better than the "epic game" music, particuarly the Mesoamerican, Mesopotamian and Rise of Rome music. I just wish there was a way of increasing the amount of music played each era. (Or at least in the Middle-Industrial-Modern ages, where everything becomes more advanced...)

Wow, you've really gotten me interested in listening to the music again, I usually just turn it off.
