Is it the mined square on the lower right of your funky island that you left unguarded?

The english can't land on your island because they don't have marines that can assault from a ship. Thats a standard tatic of mine. If the drop zone isnt a free square normal units can not disembark a ship.

The tile SW of Edo is unoccupied, so the English CAN land. What else could it be??

BTW, preventing huge landing forces from disembarking because a worker or scout occupies a tile is stupid. That's something else that needs to be worked on.

D9 got it

Z - the spearman is highlighted with a full move yet...

I thought I had made a good map for testing out lighthouse advantages with equivalent start islands for potnential multiplayer use...

Too bad no one will be able to invade for 2000 years... I guess Firaxis doesn't think that amphibious landings occured before WWII?

At the very least - each age should have a unit that can fight units on land while they are disembarking from ships(at a huge disadvantage of course)...

The english started out heading toward Kagoshima - as I continued to place units on the shoreline - the ship continued around the entire island until it reached its current position.

I still love the map that I made and hope that I will still enjoy playing on it (it minimizes contact early on and stops the ICS until the NewWorld is "discovered"- but I just have to play without putting the units on the shoreline

Its also too bad that I don't have the time to edit the units in the game extensively - perhaps I will be able to work on this over the next 6 months or so a little bit at a time?

It will be just like work... and I only paid $59 for the honor! sheesh
