Vote Ancient.

Enough space for expansion, not much units, no tanks and pollutions.

That's my choice! ;)

Medieval. The expansion phase is pretty much over and you can engage in focused wars.

Medieval - The game is still being decided, war can finally be waged effectively, and your civilization is still being molded

Ancient, I get bored with no expansion... since I'm way too addicted to improvements...

Medieval - this is where the meat of the game is. It's the best time for a GA. Your civ matures and you either fight or build.

You cannot do enough in the ancient age. Frankly, if I make it to the industrial age, I kick myself for taking so long to win.

That being said, if I were a better player, I may be able to get past those first two ages in fewer turns and use IA units and production abilities to finish better. Say, win by 1200 instead of 1650.

I'd have to say Industrial and Modern, because I love to bomb the heck out of the AI, and tanks sure are a fun way to kill units.

industrial, by then the AI has gotten stronger and more challenging.

:band:    300th post!

Modern. Having a full suite of combat options is just the best because by then most of the building is done and its time to take the war machine to...war.

Medieval is fun as well because a lot can go on, but it's mostly just Knight charges. I abhor Industrial because all too often it turns into an Infantry-Artillery slog with Cavalry to pick off lone units if the AI's got Infantry - combat just feels slow. Ancient is also just too slow, and you have to focus more because any mistakes made then are amplified later on.

The poll is finally here-) Thanks to thetrooper and moderators!

Ancient Age for me. Other things aside, there's the sense of exploration and discovery that almost always ends by the time the Ancient Age ends. All the games I've played recently have started with choosing a planet size and randomizing all other aspects of the planet (age, temperature, humidity, land percentage and composition) to make a truly unknown world to explore.

Industrial, artillery and factories come out. What I love doing is having a "builder game" on regent, build about 30 cities, get factories and coal plants in each one, have your golden age (with either Russia, Ottomans, Korea, Germany) then mobilize for war. Every city, even if in just plains without river, or any food or shield bonuses, very far from the capital can produce an infantry, cavalry, artillery, or tank every turn. 30 cities X 20 turns in golden age = 600 units. I think world conquest just might be insight.

Industrial is also the golden age for builders, like me.

Medeival ages , while i enjoy fighting in ancient most cause every unit is so valuable i just hate the expansion phase , so med age gets my vote.

Knight to Knight battles are cool. So I voted Medieval Age.

Unless expanding in the Ancient Age, I usually don't get into very many active wars until the Industrial Age, especially after discovering flight. I love carpet bombing nations and razing a few cities here and there afterwards. So I voted for Industrial Ages, with the Middle Ages following closely behind.
