I don't fit any of the poll options. The only thing I have to say is that I always come to a complete stop at stop signs, no matter how absurd it may seem at the time. I also always break the speed limit, unless traffic prevents it. I mention these facts because I have about as many tickets for running stops signs as I do for speeding.

terrible

yet somehow i've never gotten a speeding ticket *knocks on wood*

Both my speeding tickets came right after I took one of those "defensive driving courses".

I had never gotten a speeding ticket, or any other moving violation, prior to that (and that's considering I've been commuting to work for over 6 years).

I voted "fast but safe," even though I don't drive very fast. I try to keep at the same speed as traffic most of the time. But I do coast a lot, I hate paying for gas and like to take my foot off the gas completely when I can.

I can't drive, I don't drive and I don't intend to, at least until I finish uni. I have a good 4 years of cycling ahead of me... luckily, Oxford is very much a cyclist's town (And I know enough people in Cornwall to bum a lift almost anywhere :mischief: ).

I like to drive very fast. I stop at all stop signs i deem "dangerous" not to stop at or when i see a cop otherwise i slow down just a tiny bit and keep going.

Sometimes i go up to 50 in my neighborhood on the narrow streets.

I assume you put an option in the poll "Drink and Drive" as a joke. But let me tell you it is no joke. I garuantee I'm not the only one in these forums that has been effected by a damn drunk driver. My 15 year old cousin was killed by one of those idiots. It ain't worth it to drink & drive, call for a ride or suck it up and walk the 50 miles. Or just sleep where you are. Trust me on that one. I was glad to see no one voted for that one.

As for speeding down your side streets. That's idiotic as well. Nevermind if you kill yourself by wrapping your car around a tree, that'd be bad enough for your family. But could you really live with yourself if you killed a little kid, or anyone for that matter. Think of a little kid you know, and think if you could live with yourself if you did that him/her. I know, it wouldn't be your intention to do it, but it happens to even the best of drivers. Just some advice, not meant to piss you off, just to make you think a little.

A 3 wood, or maybe a 5 wood if I have a hangover.

Don't drive but have driven, I'd say I was no worse than someone who has drunk a few pints, in fact probably safer.

Ditto. The driver stays in my bag because every time I use it, the ball goes sailing off into the distance......way to the right.

I drive as fast as is appropriate which is in my view often faster than the speed limit. I always slow for speed cameras and jam sandwiches (brits will know what I mean;) ) though because I already have some points on my licence for speeding and don't want anymore.

Fast but safe.

I drive the way I wan't other people (with skill) to drive. not too fast, not too slooow.

I don't own a car, but when I drive (borrow someone elses' car) I always stay at or below the speed limit. Maybe that's partially because the car's owner would be likely to chop my head off if I crashed it. :p

I always drive faster than the speed limit, but not super fast, The fastest usually around 120 mph. I stop at all red lights, stop signs, etc. I hate ppl who drive like an old granny, I think they cause more accidents than fast and dangerous drivers.

Usually at speed limit, or just a couple km/h over.

I refer to it as driving "expeditiously". ;)

In 20 years of driving, tens of thousands of miles, I've got speeding tickets in seven different states, but not a single accident. In fact aside from road debris (tire tread in my grill from someone's blowout, and the occasional nicked windshield) I've never made a single insurance claim.

So yeah, fast but safe. :p

I drive at the speed limit, maybe 1 or 2 mph more...but stop at all signs etc.

And not ALL grannys are slow, you should see where I live, they go like 80 on a 70 mph road!
