What mods would you recommend?

Hello, I have become very bored with my collection of games, and came back to Civ IV. I just need some spice to make it fun again!

Mods I have played :

Rhys and Fall (Had lots of fun, although some of the mechanics to force historical expansions sometimes got annoying)

Pie Ancient Europe (Had lots of fun, but I cannot play it much because by around 60-70% done in turns it takes almost a minute for the game to think of a turn)

Realism Invictus , I like it, but I am not sure how to play it properly, I read about the maps being kind of goofy

So, any other mods one might recommend? I like to really play medieval period by the way. Also I really enjoy more fleshed out religious mechanics than vanilla...

You should try The History of Three Kingdoms. It's IMHO the absolutely best mod out there in terms of just fun gameplay.

well... cough cough... you should really give the VIP mod a go. I heard that not only is the creator extremely intelligent, but he should also (according to rumors) be very handsome too.

(hell, if I'm going to do self promotion, I might as well go all the way )

Although it mostly focuses on improving vanilla gameplay (as opposed to being a new theme/scenario), you should give K-mod a try; its AI is a few steps up the ladder.
