What on Earth 'Can't find CD-ROM'

Ok i know for 100% that this game works (the US version) for me as i do admit i had downloaded it illegally but only for the limbo time until the UK version was released so i could delete that.

I uninstalled American version, removed everything possible (i think)

I installed DVD edition

whenever i try to 'play' it says for me to insert the correct CD-ROM (despite it being a DVD?!?!)

Nero doesn't work, Daemon Tools doesn't work

and i don't advocate piracy at all so don't go on some moral high ground on me i downloaded only to keep up with the Americans .

Safedisc4 Hider is the only solution but someone needs to find a solution to this problem other then using other illegal means as i want to be 100% legal with no tools or cracks or anything.

Haw do i scant all the hidden installations of the US version which i put in the recycling folder?

Disk 2 is labeled the Play disk, but actually Disk 1 is.

This might be worth a try

1. Open My Computer and browse to the directory "Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information"
2. Under it you'll see many directories with strange names
3. One by one go through them and open the setup.ini file with some text editor like Notepad
4. When you find the one that has information about Civ4 delete that folder and try installing the game again

In my case it's C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{CFBCE791-2D53-4FCE-B3FB-D6E01F4112E8}

Not sure if it'll help but I've had similar problems with the game Neverwinter Nights and the only thing that worked for me was to get rid of the old folder that wasn't removed during uninstall procedure for some reason.
