So my question is what technologi is most valuable in eyes of AI.
In my experience AI most values all technologies that can provide you with a new goverment type and Fascism is the top one.

I am playing my game right now continental map.
I shared my continent with Incas and we probably were 50/50. I started the war in took over entire continent. Incas have left with just few islands.
I already in the modern age, Incas at the end of industrial.
I skipped as i usually do Fascism technology so I demanded it from Incas and usually when you beaten AI so heavily the would give up any tech but I was very surprised and amused when Inca said no and some swear words about "my guts". BUT, Instead he was willing to give me every island city (total 4) with expection of capital of course and so I took them.
I found it strange AI is willing to shred itself to 1city but not give away an outdated by the time technology.
Plus, I notice that Fascism is favorite warmongering technology for AIs in C3C.
They never use communism anymore like they always did in PTW... For me and for many people here it seems like communism is much better war time goverment. While Fascism shines for smaller empires only AI uses it no matter how big they are... I think it is somewhat a bug in C3C and they should fix it.

The most valued techs for the AI are the governement techs (Monarchy, Rep... ), dunno exactly why, but the AI dont accepts Eng and Feu for Rep... :)

And of course, Integrated defense and Stealth are heavily valued :)

I have yet to play a game where I research Integrated defense and stealth...
Well (i actually did research those when I learned how to play at chieftain level but then I didn't even know how to trade properly either)

I haven't really ever don too far into the Modern Age, but what I have gone through I'd say besides governments the AI values Nationalism ver highly. So I let them research it while I beeline for Industrialization so as I out-produce them with Cavalry. They also seem to value Electricity very highly, and I can understand why. Being able to irrigate without fresh water is a great thing.

Anything with military implications, but doesn't it also vary by the specific abilities of each civ? Religious should tend to go for theology and such, commercial for banking and economy. I'm asking, I don't really know.

Well, that pretty much settles it. Thank you.

I always check the strategy guides helps a lot especially in levels post-monarch
cheers

Since Nationalism gives both conscription and a defender (no resource), I'd pick it. If you give techs to a scientific civ and they get Nationalism as a free tech, you won't be able to trade it for Steam Power and Medicine together, even if you have a monopoly and they don't.

I think there is a difference between what the AI likes to research and what it likes to trade. For the first see the thread linked above, for the latter simply have a look in the editor-every tech has a special trade value."Integrated Defense" with 360 has the highest value in standard epic games.

They always pay good price for technology witch leads to posibility of building GW. IMHO

I vote for nationalism. You can't get that tech outta the AIs no matter how hard you try sometimes. I've offered my best cities, all my gold, all techs, gpt, luxuries, etc. and they usually still refuse. I guess they don't like the idea of me getting riflemen to defend against them. :(

Why does the AI value Nationalism so heavily? I can never trade anything for it.

It doesn't. In trading, the AI values techonoliges on how much they 'cost' (to research), and by how many other civs (they have met) have the technology.
It's not because it is a goverment or whatever, that doesn't matter in the slightest.
If no-one else had, in this case, Nationalism, that would explain why they valued it so highly in comparison to your techonologies (which other civs probably had).

For the Monarchy/Republic examples, the reason they AI value them so highly, is because they cost the most to reasearch. There's nothing fancy about it. You would find that if lots of civs had those technologies, they wouldn't be worth half as much.
