I'm not bagging out the NFL or anything, i actually think they're among the most gifted athletes getting around, but when it comes to a hard, bonecrunching sport, Gridion comes nowhere near Rugby League or Rugby Union (played in predominately commonwealth countries).

Just take a look at this: His name is Robbie O'Davis, and he plays for the Newcatle Knights in the NRL (Australia and New Zealand's highest professional Rugby League competition). It happened with 2 minutes left and his side was losing by 20 points anyway...

Edit: Apparently this picture wasn't suitable... which is probably fair enough!

Better remove the picture. Mods don't like anything with gratuitous blood and gore.

Just edit the original post and click on the thing that lets you remove the attachment.

go edit, and remove the attachment IIRC. But I agree. Rugby is a ***** when it comes to injury. Although I did see a guy get his helmet knocked off by a 300 pound guy in the CFL once. :D

Or the great game of Aussie Rules before it was sanitised by the bleeding hearts and mother's committees. :yeah:

Tis true my evil friend, tis true. Hopefully that changes tonight when Glen Archer knock's Carey's head off...

I think american football should be played without pads. Thats how we played it on the playground, in the sand lot, in the yard, and in the house. And those were some great games

On the playground, there weren't kids who could bench press a bus.

Really, of course it would be fun, for a while, until all the players were maimed or dead, then what would we watch? And if the NFL dropped pads, which will never happen, would colleges be next? High schools?

Too many people get hurt the way it is.

There is the theory that pads/helmets are one reason why there are so many injuries

Well yeah, cause it allows the players to be more massive without killing each other.
