I have enough extra money right now to buy a game, the problem is my sound is gone on my comp, and I have downloaded drives, hooked up by speakers to a friends PC and the speakers work, but not on my PC. One problem is that I cannot select a speaker configuration, the botton that pops that down during a diagnostic isn't working, it won't let me select anything...

Anyway, I can still play FPS I am a God At, like Call of Duty, and I can play games like Civ 3, Rise of Nations, Morrowind(although it sucks not hearing the people or the music) Europa Universalis 2, Warcraft 3, Mechcommander, Disciples Rise of the Elves, and various other RTS.

I am looking at getting Rome Total War, Dawn of War, Crusader Kings, Kohon 2: Kings of War, or some other RTS. What would you recommend? Has anyone played any of the above, or knows of another game that may work for my tastes(look at the games above)? Any help on the sound or game advise would be awsome. Thanks in Advance, Sargon of Agade. :)

I played the demo, where you fight as the house Julii and the carthaginians, and boy was it fun, those elephants are so impressive when trampling through the enemy line...That is a big reason its on the list, I was going to get as soon as it came out, but I had to spend my money on more imediate problems, and then my sound went out...

Maybe you should look at getting a new sound card. You should be able to find one fairly cheap. Most games lose their ambience without sound. :(

I suggest Rome Total War but without sound it's pretty much lost it's atmosphere.
Crusader Kings is a good bet also if you don't have sounds that's ok you only lose the music wich is not such a huge loss, so if you get your sound working i would suggest Rome Total War over Crusader Kings.
