What to do about the Babs?

I apologize for the lateness of this discussion, but I have been very busy the last few days. Anyway...

Obviously the Babs are no real threat to us militarily, though a major offensive against them would still be costly. They have already allowed us to produce one Great Leader, but it seems we are saving the one we have until we get industrialization, so we cannot get any more until then. They will give us 260 gold for a peace treaty, and I suggest we take it. This war serves no purpose anymore, though it has actually helped us quite a bit, seeing as we are now caught up technologically with the Babs, who were far ahead of us when the war started.

Note that this is my opinion, I do not feel very strongly either way on this topic, so if you wish to continue this war, please make your arguments, because they could sway me. I will likely post a quick poll anyway, but it is unlikely to reach quorum in such a short time, so I have a feeling I will end up making the call on this.

I would make peace, from a trade perspective they are a HUGE potential trading partner. They have excellent resources and luxuries. Of course if Persia hadn't make a foolish choice

Let's call the whole thing off. The Babs are out of the game, and we can collect their Wonders later.

We can save enough force on the western front to swipe the Russian eastern provinces from Cathy if she pick a fight with us, and we we can send all of our militarists into English territory to fight the Persians.

I believe that without the ability to generate another Great Leader from this conflict, it no longers serves any purpose for us, so we should go ahead and make peace.

Then perhaps we should send some troops south to engage the Persians for a change. By the time we meet their forces, we should have put Horsa to good use and we may be able to get another Great Leader to help us get Theory of Evolution....

Fine with me.... After the month I've had at work so far, I feel the need to vent. Kickin' Russia's butt will accomplish that just as nicely as trampling over some Persians.

Hehe - Either way is fine by me. By the looks of the Babs Military strength, they should be a push-over. It again would have to be a damn near all-or-nothing deal as their culture still dwarfs over own. But on the other hand, we've pretty much maxed out my preferred power radius for the Forbidden Palace. Now we need to get a couple of Russian cities and about 4 Iro cities. That would suit me just fine.

I agree, we should end the war against the babs and focus on our Coastal Defenses.

A side bonus of peace now is the Babs will take a nice rep hit for breaking their alliance against us. Go for peace. We can always pick this up later after we deal with Russia.

I would advocate peace given that we have achieved our war aims.
