See question above. What are all the video game systems you have ever owned/played on a regular basis, in your life?

(I'm purposely excluding computers, since I'm pretty sure all of us have used our computer for gaming at one time or another)

Nintendo 64. That's it and I will ever need.

I owned a N64, still have it somewhere. Considering I didn't get it until after the Wii and PS3, I didn't play it much. Also have/had the original Gameboy, GBA, DS, and Vita.

In order of when we got it:

*SNES (My father bought this for himself long before I was born.)
*Sega Genesis (Ditto)
*Sega Nomad (My dad gave our Genesis to my aunt so she could entertain herself, so my dad bought one of these to replace it. My aunt got the better deal because the Nomad had the lifespan of a gnat.)
*PS1 (My first console)
*PS2
*Gameboy Advance
*Gamecube (Bought this after the Wii came out then I gave it to my friend.)
*Wii (The first console I bought with my own money.)
*PS3

Bah, should have looked up "Sega Genesis", because that's the American name of the "Sega Mega Drive", which I had (therefore the poll shows now one vote more than names besides to it...).
First console I had.
Sonic, I love you .

Got later a Gameboy and a SNES, but the latter mainly as last attempt to evade 3D on consoles.
After that...only the PC.

PS1
PS2
X360

Considering picking up a PS3 because the last of us looks good, and I want to play journey, but that's going to depend on finances, got plans to do major PC upgrades over the next few months.

Not sure if I'll get any next gen consoles, going to depend on the games.

It all started with a gameboy and "Tetris" back in the old day.
Later I got an SNES (Zelda + Mario Kart), then an N64 (Super Smash Brothers) and at last went to the PS2 (Soul Calibur, Shadow of the Colossus).
However, even before the SNES i used to play games like "The Settlers 2", "Sim City 2000" and "Age of Empires" on my dad's good ol' 4/86. GO! GO! TURBO MODE! *click* :D

Me and my roomie went to buy the latest FAD, 32" LCD . got picked for a lucky draw and got a ps2.

SNES with the first zelda and first three Mario bros. And offocurs the duckhunt with the dog that laughed at you.

Gameboy and a sega game gear too. And i got a second hand PS when everyone bought a PS2

After that only pc.

Colleco Vision (Awesome)
NES (Awesome)
SNES (Best outside of PC)
Gameboy + Gameboy Advanced (Alright)
N64 (Crap)
Playstation 1 (Eeeh)
Gamecube (a'ight I guess)
Dreamcast (Pretty decent)
Playstation 2 (Pretty good)
DS (Pretty good)
Wii (Crap)

I have some sort of aversion for the N64/PS1 era. The graphics were terrible. they were terrible back then too. Even when they first came out, I was trying hard to convince myself the graphics were good but I just couldn't. This first era of ubiquitous console 3D was just terrible, the textures were awful, especially on the TVs we had back then. I liked PS1 better because it had a vast catalogue of good games. The N64 was a childish console and I wasn't 10 anymore. The only games I owned were Zelda, Super Smash Brothers and GoldenEye. I rented a lot of games, most of them were disappointing. Also if you liked RPGs, good luck.

I kind of gave up on consoles after the N64 and the other consoles I only got from various sources, I would never actually have gone out and bought them. Have been PC master race since the PS1 era.

Having been around 10 when the N64 was at its peak, I can confirm that the graphics did look a lot better than they were to kids.

They have aged extremely poorly though. So has the controller. Replaying Goldeneye in highschool was a disappointment.

Who cares if the graphics were good? What matters is if the game is an enjoyable experience. Take Ocarnia of Time for example.

You think you're teaching me something here? I listed Colleco Vision as being awesome.

I know a good game when I see one. Ocarina of Time was a great game, and I did say I owned it.

I had a hard time with the blurred washed out look of early 3d games. I had a hard time even when they were the new thing. My SNES ended up having more playtime than my N64 *during the N64 era*. The graphics weren't the main problem with the console though, it was the horrible game library. The reason why I ended up buying a Playstation. It looked like crap but at least it had more mature games.

An example of how poorly the N64 has aged and how something can become extremely overrated.

Ah, now I see what you meant.

Hasn't aged well? I bought that game years after release and it is one of the greatest games I've played.

Maniacal has state numerous times how overrated ocarina of time is in his opinion. He thinks a lot of main stream, highly praised games are overrated though.

N64 was awesome just because it was the first to have the 4 controller setup out of the box. 4 player mario cart, golden eye and super smash bros was amazing.

My timeline is:

NES when I was 6-7
DOS PC I think it was a 386
Sega Genesis
Our first pentium pc with windows 3.1!
Gameboy
Atarii 7800 (got it at a garage sale but played the crap out of it)
N64
Gameboy color
Pentium 4 pc with xp somewhere in there
Gameboy advance sp
My first pc (I built it and it was mine personally, not family's)
Wii
My second pc (built again)

I almost bought a ps3 for bluray back when bluray players were over $200, but waited instead. Glad I did, the games for ps3 are so expensive. I have also come close to buying a 3ds many, many times. Just can't quite do it. Sega Genesis was the first system where I was like wow I have to get this! We used to play those demo consoles with sonic on them at department stores. My brother and sister all chipped in like 40 bucks each and we got one.
