What was your first video game?

Yeah, 2 Go is pretty ridiculously low now. 8 is the minimum to have any gaming rig.

Well, yes. But it's not like i can currently spare the money. The rest of the pc is relatively decent for the stuff i use it for. But 2GB does create issues with rendering models in 3d, and if i was using a more ram-devouring OS it would be even worse.

32. It is the minimum if you do any graphic work. And common even for gaming, with 8 or 16 being standard. You seriously need an upgrade. RAM is cheap.

I'll look into it. I am not at all computer-hardware savvy, and actually have never upgraded any of the pcs i owned.
Hopefully a new translating gig i have will provide with some spare euros.

If your PC is 12 years old, then it runs on ddr2 ram, which means upgrading just those would be a questionable investment - as you'll not be able to use them anymore when you have to upgrade your motherboard.

Well thought.

My 4 year old laptop has 16GB RAM and yet it struggles with fallout 3....

RAM isn't the only (not even one of the main) component of performance. Graphic card and CPU are the big elements, and laptops tend to be inferior to desktop in any case.

Radeon 8650G+ Radeon 8970m, I should be able to run fallout 4 but something about my video drivers i'm guessing makes everything run like crap. And since it's a weird card setup the only driver that supports both cards properly is from January 2014. Apparently ATI stopped updating the drivers for the 8650 sometime in 2014-2015 and MSI only offers the basic driver from 2013/2014.... I even had lag in Unreal Tournament 2004!

I am going to need to upgrade my Laptop soon... Desktop is just not feasible for me, as I need to be able to move all around the house with it and use it outside.

So I'm screwed on price if I want a decent gaming rig (I do).

EDIT: @Vincour - Sorry you meant "What kind of GPU do you have?" not "What the heck is this G.P.U. stuff you speak of?"... my bad... how embarrassing
