What thing in the mod annoys you the most?

Im not talking about design or mechanics you would like changed. And Im not talking about balance issues (so no elf discussions here). Im talking about polish type things. Is there some unit are or button that always gets on your nevers, some sound effect, broken text, or some aspect that gets on your nerves when you play?

the summon skelette spell sound effect sounds like a pterodactyl screech

the lack of unique names for unique units (for instance, Amurite Warriors should have a special name the way enforcers do, maybe something like Warder or anything, and some difference from normal units)

will think of more :p

Loki's 'Run away!' is too loud.

And, uh... that's all I can think of. z_z

I actually quite like the skeleton spell sound effect. it's a horrid, dirty sound, which is how I'd imagine a skeleton to sound if it was suddenly dragged into this world against it's will.

It annoys me that I don't know how much XP adepts and summoners/sorcerers need to level up. Could this be added into the pedia??? along with the fact that you can't build summoners/socerers? I know this now, but when I first started playing I was trying to train these units and didn't understand why I couldn't.

The feature I would love is when building a mana node, if there was a scrollover or popup that showed me how many of that mana type I already had as a resource. I know I can look in the city screen, but if I get too many, I can't scroll through them all (the scroll function seems to not work). I think it would be good if the mod could track, for instance, the number of water mana resources I had so I would know if I needed to build another to get water II for free (for example).

the PLE icons show up when you go into world builder mode

the scrolling for the tech tree, it scrolls up and down, which is alright, but it would be nice if there was an easy way to scroll left and right too.. maybe click and dragging moving it around if thats possible

I couldn't find any information on what the effects are of using up a great priest to create a holy building. I'm going for a magical victory and want to know what mana the Ashen Veil holy city would give me, but I couldn't find it in the civlopedia.

So I'd suggest in the religion entry to say what the name is for the main holy temple. Then link to entries in to the building or wonder for these holy temples. If this information is in the 'pedia, make it easier to find.

In fact, what would be really cool is if somewhere (pedia under mana?) there were a central list of what wonders/temples/palaces give you what mana.

Related to anisotrpy's comment: Could we make that resource list in the city screen scrollable? And I'd really like to have all the mana resources in that list grouped together, but that may just be me.

Also, and this is going to be excessively wordy because I'm at work and not able to take a screenshot. But the "frame" sizes of a few things could stand to be tweaked if it's possible. For example, and I don't know that this is one of the "frames" that need tweaking, it's just an example of the "frames" I'm talking about, when you first meet Perpentach, and he's babbling his little poem, it's in a scrollable frame. Some of these frames extend past the GUI (now that I'm thinking about it, try going to the civilopedia for a unit with many available promotions, like a warrior, I think that available promotions "frame" is a good example), etc. It's a nit-picky little thing, and may only happen in certain resolutions, which is why I never bothered to post it (though I have taken screenshots with intent to post them), but since this thread is for exactly that sort of thing...

tsunami spell does the special effect on the caster instead of the target

some civics not showing all their benefits in the civic advisor (and the popup for say, mysticisim, asking you to change to religion and not godking.. would be nice if both were stated or the "would you like to review the civics available to you?" instead of just the one when theres multiple new civics available)

Okay I thought about this and decided to handle it another way. I made 2 changes:

1. All "graphical only" UU's are renamed to the main unitclass. So an 'Amurite Warrior' is just a 'Warrior' and a 'Malakim Chariot' is just a 'Chariot'.

2. All "graphical only" UU's are blocked in the Pedia. So you dont see a long string of Warrior Warrior Warrior Warrior (thats why I didn't name them all the same to begin with).

Note: some units are tagged graphical only even if they have minor differences. For example the Ljosalfar "Warrior" has the elven promotion and the normal one doesn't. I dont think thats enough to justify a slot int he pedia so its tagged graphical only.

So the end result is it will seem to casual players as if there is only one "Warrior" unit, he just have different art if you are an amurite or ljosalfar or khazad.

Behind the scenes they are really all seperate units but I think its a nice change since it will make FfH much easier to understand for casual layers.

Aw, does this mean no more joke about the pimped up Malakim Chariot in the pedia? :(

It means its more difficult to get to. Its still possible to get to those entries (for example by going through the Civ's UU list) but they arent shown on the main unit display.

If I can figure out how to do it Id like to put a checkbox on the unit pedia page to "Show all units".

i think it would be cool to have the demons have names. If a summon a djinn and its successfull i would like to see it apear again later when its resummoned :)

darn, i was hoping for special names and slight differences to make each civ feel more different heh (like when i play bannor i usually don't bother with hill cities since their warriors get more city defense than normal)

I would love to make the units more unique, give them unique names and pull them off of the graphical only block where it makes sense. But there is only so many decent variations of a warrior.

you know you want to rename the hippus warriors to bandits that can be upgraded to Raiders (that could be their special ability heh)

as for Amurites, you could make warriors called Warders, like from WoT the warriors that protect magic users (unless they have spells, in which case something like battlemage or anything could be good)

im sure if there was a list where people could come up with names and minor customizations for them that you'd get them all names right quick

Is it possible to show ALL units and buildings that are unique to a civ? And by that I do not mean the units that replace others but especially the ones that are truely unique to the civilisation.
When I started to play ffh2 it was really confusing and it has been adressed several times but it was allways explained the way that only replaced units are unique units (which is in my opinion not very logical)

Yeah, and for those reading these posts the more variations the better. But the feedback I get form casual players is always that there is to much variation.

So I dont mind adding stuff if its worth it, but more does not mean better.

Turned it down by 10%.
