I looked at my own profile today and unexpectedly saw "Click here to email hbdragon88!" I disabled that feature and was surprised at that. When I clicked on it it told me that "this user doesn't want to be emailed through these boards"

So what's the point of having that link if they don't want to be emailed through these boards? I think that it should be removed for those who have opted out of being emailed through these boards.

I also have the option disabled, and have noticed this. Until now, I wondered if somehow it didn't know that I wanted my email address hidden from other users. However, I don't think it's that big of a deal, since it's not like anyone's going to see that link, think, "I think I'll email hbdragon88," spend a long time preparing a message, and finally click the link, only to find out that they can't email you. Most likely they'll just click it if they want to email you, find out they can't, and that's that, no harm done.

Unless, of course, it's really easy for TF to take away the links to people who don't want to be emailed, in which case I say go for it....

It is also disabled in the Modern CFC mode.

Seems a bit of a waste. We should shorten that message to
"**** off"

If you remove the link, then someone will eventually wonder why a particular user doesn't have the link and then they might start another thread. I'm not sure what harm the link does as it shows that you have disabled email rather than having the possibility that its an error.
