Whatever happened to palace additions?

You know, "your citizens have decided to build a wonderful addition to your palace."

I know it's kind of pointless and may distract from more important elements of the game, but I kinda miss it.

Is it possible it'll be patched? I really miss it

Funny how Civ 2's presentation is still ahead of the sequels in some ways - wonder movies, throne rooms, talking advisors.
