It is obvious (usually) that the CFC community is intelligent, but just how much so? Here's a link to a test if you do not already know you IQ(note that it is in English and may not be as accurate for those who do not speak English as their first language).

I got a 136 and was compared to Bill gates :) , pretty good for not having graduated high school yet.

I don't know how accurate these kinds of tests are, as I have (historically) scored about 180. I'm not going to take it again.

You're no fun ;)

IQ is just Hogwashy numbers :p. SATs, thats a different story ;).

Alright... honestly now... I'm in my mid-20's, and the last time I took an IQ test (that I got to see the results anyway :hmm:-military), was in the 9th grade in high school - about age 15. It broke it down into about 4 or 5 different areas of ability. I scored 135-145, with the 145 being the highest, in the "school/academic ability" area. Other areas I averaged about 135-140. But remember, an IQ test asks you a bunch of questions that usually, the older and more experienced you are, the better you will fare during the test... and I was only 15.

And I've just been too lazy (and chicken) to take one since. I fear it may have gone down... no... j/k (I hope)

"Hey! Yeah! I scored 199 on my IQ test!"
-there, there's your typical dishonest answer.

Prepare for more.... :p

Tomoyo, your Super IQ score is 125

Your overall intelligence quotient is the result of a scientifically-tested formula based on how many questions you answered correctly. But it's only part of what we learned about you from your answers on the test. We also determined the way you process information.

The way you think about things makes you a Concrete Thinker. This means your intelligence is grounded in a clear understanding of what is happening around you. In situations where others are confused, things are crystal clear to you. In addition, you have the unusual combination of strong verbal and numerical skills. You are able to solve equations and then use your verbal skills to explain those solutions to others.

How did we determine that your thinking style is that of a Concrete Thinker? When we examined your test results further, we analyzed how you scored on 8 dimensions of intelligence: spatial, organizational, abstract reasoning, logical, mechanical, verbal, visual and numerical. The 3 dimensions you scored highest on combine to make you a Concrete Thinker. Only 6 out of 1,000 people have this rare combination of abilities.

I didn't try. The Red Sox game was going on.

Real IQ: 141
Online IQ:181

That's the difference in online tests for me, usually. In a real one I took at MIT, I got the above one, but I think it focused too much on mathematical logic.

Excellent, I got a 1560 SAT, or a 2290.

I was a whiz at IQ tests as a little kid. I got up there to 164 at one point. I've never been back there, though; after a while I could no longer get away with sucking at math on account of age.

My SAT scores really speak to my complete inability to do math. They are incredibly loopsided: 800 Verbal, but 630 math.

Thats odd. Most people tend to do better in math than verbal. Still a high score though.

Since 144 is supposed to be a genius, and 150 practically impossible, I think your result was screwy ;)

Ofcourse, the scale may vary.

IQ is a measure of you ability to solve problems. If the IQ test asks general knowledge questions then it is a bad test, and you should complain.

Non-Americans can be thrown by common online tests, because they assume little bits of local-knowledge, like what a nickel is; another example of a badly designed IQ test ;)

Sadly, I fall short of being a genius, but I'm pleased with my scores :)

Considering my scores, if 150 is genius, they might want to revamp that whole IQ process :crazyeye:

Like I said, scales may vary. I wouldn't trust the result of anything that wasn't official (government/education/health authority).

Yes, it varies I got a 136, 133, and 141, and was described as a visual verbalist, concrete something or other, and something I don't know.

BTW I never said these things mattered or where accurate :p

We should bridge the gap between the nerd, and jock worlds.

I hereby establish the ISQ - the Intellect and Strength Quotient.

Simple, combine your IQ score with...

"how much ya bench?", divided in half.

If your IQ is 150, and "ya bench" 400 pounds, then your ISQ is 350.
