When you are testing your mouse port on the motherboard, make sure the OTHER mouse you use is working correctly.

Why do I say that???

Because I have an optical mouse. And it cuts in and out. So I tested the port with another mouse and it did the same thing. So I concluded that the motherboard port was going bad. Then my sister says, "When are you going to fix my mouse?"
I said, "What's wrong with it?"
"It jumps all over the screen and clicks stuff by itself."

So Today I got another mouse to try and guess what??? BOTH MOUSES WERE BAD!!! So I've been using a jumpy, jittery mouse for the last week. And I've gone insane!!!! But now I'm reduced to a 2 button, no wheel mouse.

I've always been against technologic advances. 2 buttons mouses rock!

And on my Macintosh I even use a 1 button mouse. I'm pleased with that.

PS: in case you missed my hidden idea. optical = sh*** (at least not a mature enough technology)

I use a 3 button scroll wheel mouse and I hate it when I go to work and try to work in word and find that I have no scroll wheel b/c it was cheaper to get the vanila 2-button mouse.
BTW, PS/2 non-optical mouses live on!
