Why do they always show the West Berlin side? That doesn't represent how the communists divided the city, since if you got anywhere near the wall on the East side, you'd be shot.

Yeah that's pretty much the reason. I don't think anyone on the east side would have survived if they tried painting on the wall.

That's exactly what I was thinking. And since West Berlin was literally in the Eastern Bloc of Germany and every reasonable attempt made to suppress West Berlin from the Russians... case closed I should think.

There's a pretty large block of the Berlin Wall down in the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. It's pretty neat!
If it was in an American museum, I would question why it is even there. It should be donated to the Minutemen to help them build the border wall.

I never realized the East built the wall in order to keep the illegal West Berlin migrants out! I guess the lavish East German economy was just too good to resist.
I never said that. I'm just saying that if we want a wall, why are we letting the building blocks sit around in a museum?
