After the first nine months that is...

All the talk of vaccines seem to have calmed down a bit, so I felt this was a good addendum to the discussion.

I don't have any mini-me's, and won't have any for the foreseeable future, so this was an interesting question I haven't considered yet.

When do you consider it safe to bring a baby out into the wider world, and where would/wouldn't you bring one? Conventions? Airplanes? Malls? Family gatherings?

Only after their 35th birthday. And only then under qualified adult supervision.

Once you get past a month or two, to be honest, it can be difficult {not} to bring your baby out into the world. You still gotta do stuff, after all.

I think my kid was a little older than that before we took her to the mall and stuff. She's eight months now, and she's been on planes, on the subway (lots of times) and other places.

I guess I dunno. I think babies are fine to take out in public right away. I might try to avoid hospitals/people I know are sick/other children until a couple months old. Children are pits of disease.
