where did steam put my civ files? I want to go looking for the graphic files for all the little symbols and whatnot but I can't even find the damn game on the disk. What's the default, because, of course, that's the first place I should look. Civ4 is in a folder called Fraxis in my Program Files folder, but there's no Civ5 there.

Help?

It should be in your Steam folder.

Steam -> Steamapps -> common -> Sid Meier's Civilization V

ok, found them.

There's aren't any gifs or jpgs, or any file format that I recognize as a graphic file? why the hell not? I don't want to have to screen capture them all... damn damn damn.

:sad:

oo, thanks, that should help a lot. (assuming I can figure out what program to d/l to unpack the file....)

its a script in nexus ... its one of the 4 programsi nthe modding tools you can download.

I am not sure if there is another way ,,, but the way it worked for me is , it unpacked every file not just the ones I wanted to unpack. So be prepared for a long wait and make sure you have plenty of hard drive space

are they still .fpk files? I couldn't find any.. I did a search and the only ones it found were in my Civ4 folders.

All I know is ... I think t is called modbuddy mod tools or something for civ 5 ... when you open that there is a menu , select nexus then find the scripts in the nexus program. One of them is an automatic script to unpack the files you want...

After they are unpacked the files you want should be in the civ 5 folders ... resouces/directx9 or something like that.

edit

If you got the game on steam they should be in the civ5 folder that is in the steam apps folder, after you unpack them that is
