Where are the textures for the terrain?

I have this idea for a mod (I won't tell it just yet) and I just wanted to know where the textures for the terrain are located. I don't plan on using regular terrain for this mod. Well actually, if there was a way for it to use just my textures and not replace any original game files, that'd be great (don't I just put it in the Custom Assets folder?).

(Edit: You know what, I think this is in the wrong place, sorry. If someone could move this to the main section, it'd be appreciated.)

You will need to read this thread and extract the files with PakBuild.
Then play with the various .dds files under 'Art0.fpk\art\terrain'.
You can make a mod or add to Custom Assets but you will need to do a bit of reading first.
