Where can I get the editor?

how can i get the editor?

cant you download it from somewhere??

you would think that they would put it on the official civ3 site,
since its unfair that the hardcore fans who got the game first did not get the free editor with it.....

is there any way i can get this?

nope.... unless i'm missing something....

i was one of the first to get the game when it came out....
i thought only the newer ones came with the editor...


i clicked on 'run' then 'browse' looking for the editor.....
but no dice.

nothing.

The editor has not been released yet.

It's supposed to be made available sometime this month in a patch, and if it isn't then I guess we'll see it sometime in July.

how weird..i didn't know they did that...haveyou patched your game?..because the patch improves/changes the editor...also if you just did a normal install (as in just let the computer do what it wanted to) check your start menu and see if theres a shortcut to the editor there...mine put one there...if not...i cant help you ...but you SHOULD have it

i thought the editor was out, because everyone on this board is talking about it, and like Ziggy said.... the patch has some fixes for the editor in it....

and ya, i got the patch.... no dice.

i did the "typical" install (i just reinstalled it now)
it just doenst have the movies and music on it....

no editor in the start menu....

is there another way to install it or something???

er...suddenly feeling foolish.....which editor do ya mean?...the NEW one is as Old Nobunaga says on its way...i thought you were referring to the editor that comes with the game?

i dont think im missing something....

i looked in all the directories on the cd.... reinstalled it.....


and speaking of, now that i reinstalled it, the "multi" trick when saving a game to reveal the map doesnt work now.

and it also is much slower loading a saved game than before.MUCH.


WTH is goin on here??

multi trick was gotten rid of in patch 1.21

the editor that comes with the game should eb in your main civ3 directory...called civ3edit.exe...exact same icon as the civ3.exe but different colors
if it isn't there do a "find" on your cd for civ3edit.exe.....if it isnt THERE either...no idea...contatc firaxis i guess

the only other icon just like civ3 is called Autorun.

the only things i can think of is that i have the first set of Civ3's that came out,
or maybe
do you think i have to register first?

i never did the registration after installing.

nope i never registered or anything..i just installed and off i went
what country are you in?...and sad to say but it must be asked..are you running a proper copy of the game...ie not a pirated version

yep, a real copy... one of the first ones to buy it cuz i've loved Civ since Civ 1.

did you buy a more recent copy??


maybe theres a way i can ask firaxis on the civ3.com site....


i dunno what else to do....


and i really wanted it beacause the corruption sucks ballz,
and im sure theres other stuff on there id like to check out..

hmm yeah i did buy a much more recent copy..only about 4 months ago...plus im in Australia...i would say the best thing to do is contact Firaxis...they should be able to help you.despite the whining ppl do in here they do actually offer some support...way better than other companies i could name
Either that or yeah check around the civ3 webpage and see what u find

umm yeah they have been known to wander through the forums from time to time...i dont know if theres an actual link myself..ive never had occasion to need it...yet...lol...check the front page of this though..if its anywhere itll be there

Firaxis' unfortunate removal of that "multi.sav" cheat, along with no Civ 2 style Cheat Mode in Civ 3, is the result of Firaxis not wanting you to see how much the AI cheats.

and i've noticed that even more than i did before with the multi trick.

Civ3edit.exe is in the Civilization III folder on your hard drive, not on the cd.
In the start menu look in Programs>Infogrames Interactive>Civilization III >Civ3Edit
The Complete Editor will be in the next patch.

You have to have the editor. I bought this game on the first day and it included the editor. Each patch put a newer version of the editor in my directory, to boot.
