Where can you find a World Map to play on?

What do i have to do to play on a world map? (Africa,America's etc.)

Do i have to download it or do i have to create my own world map using the civ. edit file?

Can somebody please help me.

I haven't checked mind you, but I believe there is a world map 'built in'. You get to it from the scenarios on the main menu. Also, Marla Singer has an excellent world map available for download in the maps section of the forums.

the one that comes with the game is garbage. its not really very fun to play on. get marla singer's its much better

I looked over Marla's map and it is good. There are a few minor adjustments I'd make in geography and resource allocation, but overall it is a fine job. Too much in the way of sea tiles in the pacific though.
