Personally I got a tip from a friend, knew about Apolyton and other sites (civ.cx, or whatever the name was...) back then.
Moved here when I started to mod civ 3 (my pollution was the first thing I posted about...).

And I clickethed on the link, and was brouteth to this holy land!
