THE MSAV has produced a great leader

We can do the following things with this.

1. Rush Forbidden Palace at a location polled by the people (this option makes the localization of shield production unimportant, and maybe Tim Bentley could produce a forecast based on projected numbers, not only exisint numbers).

2. Produce Cavalry Army (best Army as it stands, of Cavalry Elites, this also enables us to build Heroic Epic Wonder, this is my number two recommend)

3. Produce Samurai Army (Not as good army, plus I already allocated these 8 elite samurai for Imperial Commandos)

4. Rush Magellans Wonder (Highly recommended, as we then win the wonder race with China for global naval supremacy, which is critical in this world of two continents with six civs on each, this is by far my number 1 recommend).

5 Rush Shakespears Theatre, a sort of interesting wonder to get, but not really needed with our extreme luxury control and strong economy.

Discuss and Poll here, one choice only

It'll take us 3 Techs to get Shakespeares. None of the other Civs have Printing Press, let alone Free art. Shakespeare's is not a viable option for this poll 9it'll lock us int a leader for a Century or more.)

I definately feel we should hurry the FP in Veii as this will almost double our income. Nothing helps in this stage of the game like a second capital (properly placed!).

No way! We can build Forbidden Palace without leader, follow the plan we had before. We have 3000 gold and we can boost one city with gold and workers and build FP there. Or build the Palace in Odawara or Doomsville it will be finished in 10-20 turns.
We already decide to create an army with the leader, why is this poll here at all?!?

Magellan -> useless wonder.
Samurai Army -> Weak Option.
Forbidden Palace -> We can hand build that.
Shakes -> Useless Wonder at it takes too long.
Cav army -> Great option; as it allows Heroic + Pentagon + Military Academy (in due time).

For me there is only 1 option: Cav Army.

The are no wonders we really need. Forbidden Palace can be built quickly if we start it now. Military Academy would be a nice asset, even if we just build armies to disband them and get a lot of shields. (My vote: Army of Cavalry)

I agree. We had previously agreed that the first Great Leader would be used for an army. The overwhelming choicee is for the Cav Army.

Information

We needed this poll, as Samurai was obsolete, and maybe someone wanted an elite Cavalry army compared to a Samurai Army, plus we could build another set of wonders and Forbidden Palace.

So now the peaceniks and reputation builders want to build an Army and prepare for more WAR? :rolleyes: Yeah, sure. Makes sense to me.

Cyc, I have dedicated the disbandment of my Swordsman Veterans (most of them) to the building of the forbidden palace as dictated in a poll.

Okay, sorry Rik, I stand corrected, I will transfer these swords to 1 population cities in corrupt areas in order to build temples and courthhouses, as well as city walls and barracks.

Killing 1 unit before we make peace is not "preparing for war"; it is in fact preparing to be able to build a lot more buildings (thus culture).
Uh, no RM. That's not what I'm talking about. First you say you don't want any war, then you build Caravels to invade other continents. Now you would rather build an Army for more war, PLUS use this Army to enable other structures whose main purpose is to further war. Heroic Epic? Pentagon? Military Academy? Oh, gee. Those have nothing to do with more war.

Ya know, I bet the bored ones here would have a lot more interesting game if we'd quit preparing for more war and just tried to run a Democratic Government.

And please don't try to inform me about Culture. :D

..... But Provo: you cannot rush the VP and disbanding swords will thus not give extra shields to the FP. That means we have less swords for 0 shields. ...

You can't use them to rush the FP, but you could rush a Courthouse and a marketplace (for happiness) before starting the FP. This could increase the shields per turn and thus decrease the time to build the FP.

Cavalry army.

-Cavalry can no longer be upgraded, so it wouldn't be like we are putting them into an army too early

-It allows nice military wonders to be built that should keep the Minister of Defense quite happy

BTW, if you didn't do something soon, I would have. This is a busy week in the States (you should know ;))! I would say it falls under Defense, anyway. The leader icon shows up on the military screen. :p

Cavalry army. Wonders can always be built without a GL, armies can't.
