Hallow Again Everyone!!

I'v made a scenario for mac's. It's v1.29b2.:D
I'm a bit confused as where to post it. Could somone please enlighten me. Thank's in advance. posted july,11 2004

Hallow again everyone! (posted oct,24 2004)
sid has been so kind as to put this scenario on his web site, thank you sid.
This is the site address I hope it works
http://homepage.mac.com/s_starr/FileSharing5.html

This scenario changes includes:
custom map, huge
all units up to cavalry are hidden nationality
swordsman cause golden age and will automate to act just like a regular barbarian
all foot units do all the worker actions (build road, mines, irrigate, ext.)
workers cannot be built until computers and there are no more foot units
all civs have the same starting tech's and traits
all units movement rates have been increased

This scenario and map should be and is setup to play in accelerated production

Changes I need to make:
First I need to change the panzer I tried to use it as a landing strip. This dose not work!
There are still some special civ units I need to change
these are some of the changes I need to make I cant find my list's to list them all I will make these changes soon as posable.

Starting locations are not equal and they are random, and there are some your sure to to lose by.

I'v played this scenario 5 times now on monarch and it requires a whole new strategy in game play.

its been a while since the last time I played this scenario and a long time since I built it so I don't remember too much or as much as I should to give a better more detailed acount sorry.

Some people have asked me about maps so I plan on doing some for mac users. If you have a request for a map you want built "size and style" I'll do my best to get it done. I do not however want to build maps of books of worlds or to copy any existing map, I like to use my artistic talent and creativity Thank you.

What is Mac-specific about it? Surely it should run in any Civ 1.29 software? If so then put it in the Completed Scenarios thread in Creation and Customization.

Sorry, I see that I came over as a bit negative. You're quite right Dojoboy. Well done Taltho

There are three steps to the process:

1. Upload the scenario to Uploads7 using the Upload File link at the bottom of the page. If you have your own web space it may be better to put it there, as Thunderfall occasionally purges old files, and so you would have to re-upload it if that happened. t shouldn't be a problem for a year or two though.

2. Post a description of the scenario in the Creation and Customization thread where you see other similar posts, and include a link to your uploaded file.

3. Put a post in here with a link to that description so that Mac users will find your good work.

Ha Ha!
That's funny!

First off, What I mean by mac specific (is what dojoboy said) that is, it was made on a mac cause, that's all I have at this time and, the mac version of civ edit has about half the options witch makes it difficult to do too very much. I am also still learning Mac OS and I'm loving it more and more and more.

second I haven't been able to find or download any bic files that worked on my mac. It is very posable I'm not doing something right, I'll play around with it some more when I have time. I will install win xp version of virtual PC for OSX I'm sure this will help. I just noticed that there are some mac users looking for such a thing as a scenario for the mac. I guess that's what this is.

Third since the mac edit has half the options of PC civ my scenario would seriously pale in comparison, however it dose incorporate different strategy's, and different game play concepts.

I will post a link here to the completed scenario forum, first I need to spend some time in the vb forum to learn how to do this but for now long day, tired, good night.

:worship: Thank you AllanH for suggesting, highly reccomending OSX much moe bett'ar. :worship:

Kewl, taltho. Remember to follow Alan's third point and let us know when your scenario is ready. I play little Civ these days (gradually moving to play RoN on a PC), but I'd love to play something created on a Mac. Other people's maps are so much more fun than the random generations of vanilla Civ.

Sorry Every one I haven't been around for some time now.

Sorry Sid for taking so long here, I hope your still around.
Ok I had my scenario almost ready, played one game and was through all the fixes, well almost then Me [Smoking Alaskan indaca skunk bud] didn't save, oops, exited edit and sent it to my civ III 1.29b2 file and said DAMN! since I spent about 1.75 hours I haven't got around to fixing it yet.
Also it is summer time here in Alaska and I enjoy the sun while it's here, so I'll fix it probly in a couple of month's. If you or anyone is still interested let me know, I'll post it here 'As Is' then take suggestions or email it to anyone who is interested.
let me know via email thanks.:)

Oh yeah btw I do have web space but it's for my corporation and it wont work for civ, come winter I'll purchas personal web space for things like this.

OK every one, till next time keep on civ'n on.

Above on the first post I have included a link to where you can download this scenario, I'v also included a brief description of what this scenario is about.

I haven't tried the download myself but I'm sure it works.

Thank you Sid again for posting the download on your website.

Hi Talto. I dowloaded it OK, so the link to and on Sid's site is fine.

Some initial feedback: I tried starting a game as England/Emperor level, and when I went to the F6 screen there was a misplaced teck box for Bronze Working, pushed up into the top left corner of the screen. When I control-clicked it I got an error: "missing pediaIcons.txt entry _LARGE" which crashed the game, of course.

As you say, it's a different game! Three starting techs and loads of traits. Road or irrigation in 1 turn, worker range 2, scout 3 ... Maybe some of this is accelerated production, never tried it :hmm:

Hallow again

I know about the bronze working tech box you just cant touch it and the game plays fine.
What happend was I tried tho manipulate the tech tree and that's the best I could put it back together.

Accelerated production is an option you switch on/off in your startup menu.

The idea behind the worker actions is that the foot unit dose the work and the worker comes latter, anyways the foot unit cant always build especially when all units are hidden nationality you are at war with every one, taking their city's and their taking yours. there's little time to do building (or at least there should be I say this cause I haven't disabled the settler giving up workers yet..)

I turned up the movement rate of all units to help speed up game playtime.
Game playtime is very long without the extra movement rates and build rates.
One needs to realise that with all units as hidden nationality war is ever present and that gets tedious, especially when your also trading resources with those same civs.

Its the same game, still civ, only the game play concept is different, game play strategy is different and the AI interaction is different.

I still need to do a lot of work on this scenario and suggestions are wellcome.

I'll try to get some time to play wth it. I'll also see if I can spot the problem with Bronze Working in the BIC.
