Where's my Uranium?

I have a patch of Uranium on my territory and I have built a mine over it and connected it with roads, only problem is that it doesnt show up anywhere in the city-screen or trade-screen. Its simply like I dont have the Uranium...very annoying.

lol, i did the same thing with oil and their wells... nevermind that i hadn't discovered how to build the things yet!

[Setting: France, circa 1700]
Scientist 1: Say, what's this brittle rock-like substance that keeps making people sick when they're around it too long?
Scientist 2: Dunno, but I think I'm gonna call it "uranium!"
1: "Uranium?" What's it used for?!
2: Well, it can be purified to make nuclear bombs, or it can be used as fuel for atomic reactors.
1: Nuclear? Atomic reactors?!? What the HELL are those!!
2: ... I'm not sure.
