Which civ should I play in July?

I am reviving the old "Leoreth Plays ..." custom. For those who weren't around back then, for a while I would run monthly polls on which civilization I should play and then I would write an AAR of my playthrough for the UHV of that civilization. The point was to give a little insight into how I approach the game, give me an excuse to actually play the mod, and to focus my attention of a particular civilization to improve its game design and overall make some small to medium effort improvements to the mod as I come across them.

So to kick off the active playtesting phase of 1.18 on the new map, I am bringing this back. You have two weeks to pick the first civilization for me to play. All the options are from the new civilizations that have been added - I have decided not to include Assyria, Hittites and Nubia to stick with a clean number of 10 and because I am less interested in playing these civilizations again right away because I have done a few runs with them and their possibility space is not that large.

I intend to keep this going for at least a few months. You can suggest a civilization (please only one per post) for the next poll in this thread - for the next time, please only include civilizations that are NOT new. I will pick the top 10 most chosen civilizations, ties broken by time of suggestion. Let's see who wins!

Voted for Swahili solely because Africa is the only disappointing part of the mod for me. Maybe lack of content here will become more evident this way, but honestly, any new civ is good.

On the bright side I feel like there is now ample room for a Chwezi and Shona/Zimbabwe civ now which would fill a lot of mostly barren east Africa...

I'm playing France now. In the 1200s. It's been pretty easy. Quickly conquer Italy except Venice. Settle one South of Strasbourg to avoid the flip. Wait for HRE to lose their army to taking Venice (I noticed AI doesn't care about success odds and will wipe their army). Then I DoWed as soon as I could, taking their capital and capitulating them. Meanwhile focusing on teching to Patronage for SMdF and then Notre Dame and now I'm going for Sistine then Protestantism. Only problem is Arabia just discovered Scientific Method so their tech rate is insane. Next I'll likely go after Andalusia because they have cool resources, just gotta make sure I keep my expansion in check. IDC about Spain right now cause their city placement sucks. They founded an inland city (Leon) which severely F'd their coastal cities.

I'm really wanting to see Sweden. Not a winner right now but they seem too weak to me right now.

E: I definitely think Paris needs more food resources

One thing I'm unclear about @Leoreth: have you played the UHVs to completion before? You mentioned playtesting the civs during the development phase but I'm not sure how in depth you went.
