I would like to see an Illyrian civilization.

My wishlist:

-Khmer, Southeast Asia represent! Largest mainland Southeast Asian civ in history. That's pretty strong reasoning on its own

-Vietnam, see above. Southeast Asia's unique civ because they had more influences from East Asia

-Nepal, the mountain civ we've all been waiting for (and I mean actual mountain civ. Not just Carthage gimmick or Inca hills) [voted this one]

-Kongo, to be honest I don't really care. Just want some more African representation. So anything really from the Namib deserts to the Kongo region is good for me

-Canada, got a lot of buds who want them. I think this would sell really well for that reason

-Australia, same as above. And who really cares about the definition of "Civ". They are great countries today and that's good enough for me

A simple OCD-induced "bring back all the civs that were in previous games that didn't make it in V". Sumer, the Hittites, the Sioux, and Khmer primarily. The HRE seems a bit iffy now that it feels a little like Austria basically is meant to kinda portray them, and Mali may not work because the Songhai pretty much replaces them what with the very interlaced primary city lists. (And of course Denmark is pretty much the Vikings, and we won't speak of the Native Americans civ)

I'd kind of support a modern nations pack that features Canada (with maybe an Inuit-based UU?), Mexico, Argentina and Australia, as there's no doubt they're very strong economic forces in the world today, but eh, I can see the argument on cultural distinction. The Kongo or Zimbabwe or something feels like a good idea to add, since we primarily need a central African civ for geographical diversity and a general dearth of those. Otherwise I'm not wholly certain. The four initially mentioned above feel like the big missing pieces to me.

The PRC doesn't like Tibet. :(

Like it really doesn't like Tibet.

So what? If I'm from Tibet I really don't like PRC. Like I really don't like PRC. See?

Once politics gets involved there are going to be no winners here. Its a game for goodness sakes and Fireaxis should be braver than that.

The whole thing is silly- we have Genghis Khan, who committed genocide on an unimaginable scale, but because no one is around to remember it its ok - but we can't have Tibet because people might get upset.

Armenia

Not too many Civilizations went toe to toe with the Romans at the height of their power...

The problem I have with Israel being included as a Civ is that its actually more of a nation state than a civilization. Its very hard to compare Israel with the more profilic ones like the Romans and Greeks, Chinese, Zulu, etc. There are much more suited towards being a city-state, which they are now.

As for Tibet, I'm on the fence. Historically, there was a time when they did hold much land, much more than they do now, and were very culturally and religiously prominent. To me they seem to fall in between a civ and city-state, gamewise.

Vietnam: Long history (2500+ years), unique (initially matriarchal) culture, unique military achievements (one of the sole reasons the Chinese imperium never penetrated Southeast Asia), large population (including sizeable diaspora in Western countries like USA, France, Canada & Australia).

Australia: Could be a fusion of modern Australia and aboriginal Australia, the latter being the world's oldest culture. Australia has wealth in minerals, a major tourist destination, and fills the gap in representation of the Australia-Oceania geographic region (besides Polynesia).

I would also love to have Sioux, Navajo, Inuits, or Cherokee for North America, and Kongo and South Africa to represent Africa.

Please, Firaxis?

Good point about Aus. Sort of an almalgam civ. Though, to be fair, it seems that most civs are usually focused on a particular time period in the game. Australia will be a large stretch, timewise.

I forgot about Vietnam, I guess they should also be included.

South Africa is also interesting - like Australia it can be thematically represented via the Khoi-san, the Boers, and England.

Holy Roman Emperor, so that seems close enough to me.

As for civs I want to see, I actually would say Israel. They have been an important civilization (although controversial) since the beginning of time.
Yes, because I'd really like to play as a civilization whose entire ancient history, according to their OWN holy texts, was basically made up of being smacked around by more powerful empires. And then, when they got "exiled" from their homeland, they got smacked around some more by basically everyone for almost two thousand years, and then everyone took such pity on them after WWII that they were finally granted back their "homelands", when it wasn't even really their lands anymore. /sarcasm

The only claim to fame that Israel possibly has is that their religion became the basis for two inexplicably popular world religions.

I'm not certain about South Africa? Sure it's very prolific in the world today, but hmmm. Maybe it's just the geographical thing of how the Zulus are right around there.

Speaking of the Boers they would be crazy if added as a mod civ from the Africa scenario. Culture from Farms? yes please~

It would but thats not a valid reason NOT to include them - what about Portugal and Spain? France and Germany? Denmark and Sweden? Venice and Romans? I could keep going on.

- The Bretons : greatest Civ all time

- The Roms (a.k.a tziganes, gipsies,...) : With a unique gameplay (Venice opened the door...) They don't own any city but spread among the existing ones (ok, ok it could be hard to implement, but we're here to dream anyway...)
