Which mod has the most competitive single player?

Reason I'm asking is because I've been playing ROM: A New Dawn for several years and I'm now beating deity and the AI can never catch up to me once I start snowballing in classical age. It's not updated anymore so it's time to move on.

I've played a few hours each of C2C, RI, FFH and I'm wondering which one has the most competent AI?

I recommend mods that focus on improving the AI instead of extending the game with additional features. The most advanced of them is the aptly named AdvancedCiv.

I'll give it a try, hopefully it's advanced enough to put up with playing vanilla BTS all over again.
